Sapphire 290 Vapor-X Temperatures

I just begun overclocking my 290 yesterday and I noticed the fans and temperatures were getting quite high.
It was interesting because I only raised the voltages by +100 and have the core clocked at 1150Mhz. The temperatures go up to 85C and the fans speeds ramp up to ~60%. Also the fans %60 almost sound like the reference card, or at least I think it does. This is all while running FurMark.

Is this normal? I've talked to Sapphire and they say to RMA it but some people from LTT say it's normal for these temps as it is a 290. But I'm worried about the loud fans the most.

Furmark normally makes the gpu run much hotter then normal gaming and temps up to 95C are unfortunately within the "normal" range for these cards.

Do not use Furmark to find a stable 24/7 OC. Furmark is way to heavy for your graphics card, and you can end up with a fried card.

BF3/4, Metro or bench programs are better too use.

3dmark Firestrike looped can pinpoint any instability to your oc and and is less heavy compared to furmark. Furmark temps are non-existent compared to real time gaming scenarios.

Use Unigine Heaven 4.0, he is the best for checking OC stability of the card.
Make it run for 3-4 loops and see how it goes. It is a gpu stress-testing software but not in a way furmark does it

Where do you live? What's your room temperature?
My 290x performance is no where near it was when I got it back in January.

I live in Canada. In the basement to be particular. So it should be like 25C in the summer.

If your room it's warm and you're using furmark, you don't have a problem.
