Do us a favor and save a uefi and csm copy of your bios and attach the sku number to the file itself and If there is any other info from white stickers please add it to the file other than serial number and upload it here. Glad it works now.

When I some spare time I wiil do that. This is the first even half-way decent game card that I have had in years, so I am playing catch up on the learning curve.

I have a "refurbished" Sapphire R9 285, that I bought off eBay.

(OK, if you want to lecture me on being stupid...you can skip this thread. Thanks!)

I installed it in my ASUS Sabertooth 990FX / AMD-FX8300 system last night and....NADA...no BIOS message, no display output on HDMI, DVI OR Displayport (tried all three).

So I don't think this is a Windows Driver thing....we aren't even getting a BIOS screen before it attempts to boot.

Now this system has been working fine with a Sapphire HD7750 card, which I removed before I installed the R9 285.

The R9 285 appears to be powering up...the fans are spinning, the Sapphire LED is lit....but no output.

I am using an Antec 550 watt supply (aka Seasonic G series) with the necessary dual six-pin PCIe cable installed and connected to the card.

Any ideas from the gang on how to proceed?

It could be blown fuse or one of the vrm or more are busted.

Well the seller didnt argue about the board and refunded me, so I have no complaints against them. Just bummed it didnt work. I have bought refurbished Sapphire products before and they worked fine. Sapphire seems like a quality AIB maker.

it comes down to who did the refurb Sapphire (who'll run a battery of tests on it before reselling it) or some nob who just cleaned it and put new thermal paste on the heatsink there in lies the difference

Suposedly it was refurbished by Sapphire. It was clean, packed in new antistatic bag and packed in nice box. Not original, plain brown, but sturdy and cut exactly for the card. The seller had 100% positive feedback (16000+). When I said it was DOA, they refunded quickly. So..it ended OK.

But the fact it was DOA highly indicates it was not tested (or not much) before I got it.

Well make sure to do a save of it using gpuz and upload all info from cards box label and white stickers without the serial number please. I understand you have been down and out- enjoy it too

Its been over a week since the upgrade. Have not extremly stressed the system but have run some benchmarks and the R9 380x is working good. Numbers are about where I expected it to be. It does get warm under load but is surprisingly quiet.

If you are worried about the worried about the warmth utilize MSI afterburner or Sapphire trixx to set a fan profile of course noise is going to be higher but that's when you turn up your speakers

Just a follow up note, I tried to upload my Sapphire R9 380X Nitro BIOS to the database, and the GPU-Z tool said that the BIOS is already in the Techpowerup Database, so it would not upload.

But at least I gave it a try!

Contact @W1zzard and @T4C Fantasy and see if they might be able to update the descriptions

No point uploading the same BIOS multiple times, the "duplicate" message will give you the link to the existing BIOS

I was thinking if the descriptions could be added to, it would make it a little easier to determine what is what

Oops sorry, @TechyTed, screenshot GPU-Z main and memory pages please. Then provide the SKU of the card too.

@W1zzard, sorry I've been helping so many recover their cards I am losing track on what bios files Were provided or not, this guy got a R9 380X now inplace of the R9 285 that refused to work.
