Sapphire R9 Fury Tri-X 2nd-hand, mainboard halts on VGA (Debug-LED)

Fellows,
I just bought a 2nd-handed GPU (I've seen it boot up and saw the desktop, so it "works"). Now, I've put into my board running:
  • MSI x570 Gaming Plus (running latest 7C37vAF BIOS)
  • 4650G Pro
  • 4x8GB G.Skill DDR4-3600-CL14
  • SeaSonic Focus PX-750 (80+ Plat.)
BIOS is running defaults or proper XMP and in UEFI-mode (not CSM, although I haven't tried CSM yet). Debug-LED halts on VGA.
If I disconnect the power-supply from the card, board-overview doesn't even detect the slot as occupied, which I find perculiar, as one would expect a closed circuit to be had.
GPU-Z doesn't see GPU. I know of the BIOS-switch, position 1 or 2 results in the same effect, being nada.

Pulled everything out, kept 1 stick of RAM, keyboard/mouse. Other sticks of RAM, same result.
What I'm going to do now:
  • Try using CSM-boot
  • Use VBFlash to see if it detects something (using UEFI-version)
  • Use the other PCI-E x16 slot on my board, as I have 2
If there is some amount of advice to be had, I'm all ears.

Edit, something I noticed:

In the picture "1", being the BIOS-switch, "2"seem to be DIP-switches, but I can't find for the life of me what it's about.

Edit 2: I have to NVME-drives installed on the M.2-slots, is that the problem?

iirc 4870 X2 and HD 7970 (some of the previous radeons i had) featured these switches ( shown at 2), afaik these are for some crossfire config. from the factory they come switched to one side (again, iirc) but that may just be some wild guessing. Did you try (assuming u have ryzen without igpu) to boot with 2 cards (the fury in one slot, but video connected to another known good gpu in another slot), to check if the fury shows up in device manager? Also, already tried cmos reset?

I got it to boot up in CSM, performance wise it doesn't matter. The iGPU has been disabled entirely.

BIOS Switch 1 does indeed feature:

BIOS Switch 2 features:

You do indeed see less shaders on the 2nd BIOS (P4B).

Regardless, it works :)
Is the 1st one a Fury X-flash unlocking more shaders?

It is odd that eventhough GPU-z says I can boot via UEFI, actually doing so the LED-indicators don't even lite up. In CSM, they do and the PC posts.

Small update, despite GPU-Z saying the BIOS had UEFI, the mainboard was "too modern" I think for the GPU's BIOS to handle properly. So I updated it via GOPupd. The BIOS with the extra shaders didn't seem that stable, got artifacts. So I've overwritten it with the updated Switch2-BIOS. Works fine now and I can enable BAR/4G in my BIOS :)

I'm thinking that I'm going to update the EFI-part on the image of the 1st ROM as well and see what happens.

Well there was a Fury Nano, Fury, and Fury X. Yours is a Fury, they must of tried making it an X,may have needed more volts

I probably could have found you a newer bios that had uefi updated.

It's running now, albeit on Switch 2 with the updated GOP, running UEFI now and BAR/4G. When I use this vBIOS on Switch 1, for some odd reason I get presented with artifacts and I even have to reset the entire BIOS and reinstall the drivers on Windows :) @eidairaman1 - If you have some proper BIOS-roms, of course I'm all ears :)

For convenience, the original ROM's and the ones with updated GOP are attached in this post.
