Sapphire radeon x800xl 256mb problem

hiya ive got a Sapphire radeon x800xl 256mb problem

basicly fresh install of windows, everythings fine then I install the drivers from the disk and restart and i just get a black screen, the green power light doesnt go orange tho(strange)

I then restart and apply last known good settings and everythings fine again, try to reinstall and I get the same problem

Try downloading the newest drivers from ATI.

ok tried that now im getting a blue screen and a restart

any more ideas?
im desperate to get this working and would apreciate any ideas at all

W/O knoeing the specs of exact your onfig is this just a quessing game. I would quess that your PSU is perhaps not up to the job or you had a nVidia card before and did not completely uninstall everything - time for a fresh windows install.
