Sapphire TriXX Beta Up.....

Well blackhole I was essentially in the same boat and my hunch was that ULPS wasn't actually being disabled despite checkbox and what registry showed. No troubleshooting could fix so I finally slapped a fresh install of Windows 7 and Trixx on a diff HDD and booted my machine form that and lo and behold it did not crash. So I can't tell you for sure what my issue was exactly or why I was experiencing it but a clean OS install finally fixed. Obviously its very helpful to have a diff drive to make sure before you wipe your main.

Ok, I have a VTX3D 5850, non reference, same as Powerocolor PCS version. I installed this latest version of Trixx and I have been able to raise voltage from 1063mV to 1150mV, but I can only change the voltage until 875MHz on core (which is the CCC limit), after I put on 876 or higher, the voltage drops back on 1063mV, does anybody know why is that?? It would be pretty cool to bump voltage a bit, because its stable for benchmark on stock voltage on 935 MHz.

VRMs are hot and cant keep the voltage stable so it drops to default values. better cooling might help

I dont believe that thats the problem, the cooler is simply awesome, 30c idle, 65 load, its exactly the same as this one http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Powercolor/HD_5850_PCS_Plus/4.html, and it does have a aluminum on VRMs, mines even got cooper i think. So my best guess somekind of a softwer glitch or something like that :eek:

No change, its definetly not in the overheating problem, its either in the drivers (11.2) or the Trixx, because I can up the voltage right to 875, 876 and the voltage goes back to 1063. And the 875 is the exact maximum in the CCC. Guess I wont be cranking voltage on my 5850

I will eventually do that, but I can´t do that right now. But thanks for the advice.

With this new version Trixx is not crashing anymore, but I cant change the voltage.

Until 4.0 I was able to change the voltage when using a single card, with CrossFire the app was crashing.

With 4.0.1 I´m able to open Trixx but without voltage control.

I stopped using Trixx now, the fan speed kept on not working to my custom presets on my Sapphire till I opened the program and clicked on my custom check mark that was already checked in the first place despite the fact that I have it to start with my computer and run minimized.

I switched to Afterburner, at least it works for controlling the fan of my Sapphire card at startup. My card is a SAPPHIRE HD 5850 Vapor-X, could you please fix this issue Wiz so I can actually use the Sapphire Trixx software rather than MSI software for my Sapphire card... Not changing clock speeds or anything, only used Trixx for can control because the Vapor-X has an annoying hum at 21% fan speed and using Trixx or other software to put to 29% actually gets rid of the hum. I don't want to set an always 29% fan speed either or some fast fan speed, that'd be just stupid.

Love my silence when not gaming but silence and cool temps don't fit when gaming

no its none of that ive a vtx3d 5870 that wouldnt go over 950 without dropping to defaults, i removed that gfx card bios set limit (definately) by flashing an alternative refference bios to it from asus it clocks to 1050 easy and stable now.

its a bios set unadjustable limit set by the manufacturer often so you bother to buy the OC version instead but getting a refference bios with higher limits will sort it for you, all refference cards are built to a refference spec and should(bios wise) be almost identical(except for names and limits), its deff worth it

every radeon card ive got so far has had a limit set at something but ive removed many this way

Hi Wizzard, any idea how i can get the voltage control to adjust past 1.233V for my card in trixx? The v.2 seems to not allow any undervolting, or anything past 1.233V in any appilication.

W1zzard why would it happen when for me at least using my SAPPHIRE HD 5850 Vapor-X using Windows7 64bit pro that my fan setting are not taking effect at startup?

Afterburner is working at startup for fan speed, Trixx starts up at startup but for some reason I have to click my already checked "custom" fan speed box to get it to set to my custom fan speed?

There seems to be a problemw ith TriXX and WinVista 64bit. Aero Glass theme is interfering with skinned interface of TriXX. It adds Aero frame around it and when you minimize it, taskbar button remains even though it's minimized to tray.

EDIT:
I also got "Could not create trey icon" error and "service was scheduled for termination" error. First i think can be solved by delaying the startup using Task Scheduler, but i don't quite understand the second one. It seems to work differently on each boot so i can't really reproduce anything yet.

i figured out a bug in trixx latest version with my 5850 toxic ,,it leads to freezing pc after playing bad company 2 for 10 mins @900/1250 costum fan profile

edit:i tried it at stock it also freez any way i found that its version 3.07 there is 4.0 right?

i checked the latest version it doesnt support voltage on my 5850 back to 4.0 (3.07) hopefully they fix the crash problem with battlefield
