Hello Guys,

ive got this dead vega 64 from a colleague and i rly have no ideas anymore to fix it...

tried so far:
- inserted card with another vega 64 in one system - only the working card is displayed in windows device manager
- tried this card in various systems (from good old am3 boards to 2011-0 systems) with various psu´s (from 550w bequiet straight power to corsair rm1000i) - still only blackscreen
- looked in the gpu-post section in my RIVE´s uefi - "pcie slot empty"
- checked the pcb - nothing thats ripped of ur burned

the previous owner has no idea what this card must have experienced...

if anyone here has some more ideas, pls bomb it in this thread, dunno why but rly want this card working

big thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english

There's a few guys on youtube that repair broken video cards. Watching their videos is the best place to start.

Generally speaking you need a multi-meter and the knowledge of where to probe.

well, watched masses of videos, tried a pair of things and maybe found the faulty piece... looks like 2 caps died, actually couldnt measure resistance correct, cause multimeter is more or less ripped

now i go for a new multimeter and a useable heatgun and see where it goes hm

Pictures of the process if you don't mind, a work log here may help others.
