Hello,

i thinking if i change my ssd sata to ssd nvme it will help with temperature.

My laptop is MSI GE72 7RE

Left site is GPU fan and right site is CPU fan. I only play games, watch some video on net and simple work stuff.

When my CPU runs like 78 C for long run then my SSD Drive is hotter like 42-43C and my hand feel it on netbook case... which is not good.

1. Do you think m.2 sata will give me that cold for right site of notebook ? (Ofc m.2 will replace sata)
2. To be honest i never used dvd drive it will be good to remove or maybe put another fan ther ? (Dont know if it is possible)
3. Maybe just buy cooling pad ?
4. If m.2 do i need with heatstick for better temperature ?
5. If m.2 which one will be good for low temperatue ?

Hi and welcome, normally m.2 drives are getting hotter than any other drives (especially NVME) so I am not sure how that is going to help your situation. The cooling pad will give you some cooling but probably not enough.
If there is enough space you can add an m.2 heatsink on the drive.

Imo best option would be to get a heatsink for the m.2 drive and add a good cooling pad but 42-43 C on the drive is not that bad, they can go up to around 70 where they usually throttle

I would get the cooling pad. Other than that the bottom of the laptop is supposed to be hot since the heat sinks carry the heat away from the cpu and gpu and make contact with the back of the laptop.

Taking a look you already have an m.2 sata ssd, and your hard drive over there probably will not generate much heat at all. The heat you are probably feeling is going to be the same heat heating up your drive as it is most likely the heatpipes for cpu/gpu dumping heat into the body of your laptop making everything hotter including hand rests, drives, and mainboard. Also worth noting there is already an m.2 drive in the only m.2 slot I see, so be prepared to deal if that will be a problem. Personally I've used the 960 evo line from samsung in 2 desktops and a laptop, and I have yet to see throttling on any of them day to day without heatsinks or anything.

Storage heat is the least of your worries in a laptop. Regular SATA SSD or HDD will be the coolest parts in there.
