British retailer Scan.co.uk teamed up with BBC to produce a mini-ITX system modeled after TARDIS, from Doctor Who. Roughly the height of a micro-ATX tower, the TARDIS system, made from anodized aluminum, packs a mini-ITX motherboard (GA-H61N-USB3), Pentium G2120 dual-core processor, 8 GB of RAM, a 500 GB 2.5-inch HDD, onboard Intel graphics, and a 300W PSU, which can be configured with faster processors, SSDs, graphics cards, and more RAM. Die hard Doctor Who fans can grab the base model for £937.19 inc VAT.

Great! If they offered just the case at a decent price I'd buy one.

400 Pounds for the case alone, it's a bit much too much. And it has been announced some time ago, it's not news to me.

It's a custom, low volume aluminum case that looks complex to manufacture - it's not just made up of a bunch of flat panels, and there are probably licensing costs I think that price isn't too bad for the case alone really.

My thoughts exactly. If the case alone is 400 GBP as Sir Alex Ice says, people could configure a good system for less than an additional 500 GBP in parts. This thing is begging to sit next to the TV with an ITX Trinity APU system :) The *only* downside I see is a single exterior slot for expansion, maybe that's necessary for the optical drive to fit though. But it looks awesome!

My girlfriend has been clamoring for a TARDIS case for any upcoming build, and this comes out? Nice.

If only it wasn't so expensive and was offered in the states. Or had better than a Pentium G2120...
