screen tearing

Hello, I wanted to ask a question about problem of the screen tearing, where do you think there is a problem, in software / hardware / operation system?
my laptop:
win10 acer aspire vx5 laptop.
GPU: Nvidia geforce gtx 1050m
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7300HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHz
RAM: 16GB

I've tried a lot of ways to solve it: reinstalled the driver, changed resolution of the screen, turned on vertical synchronization, turned off hardware acceleration, game mode and other methods to avoid it in games. None of that worked for me. I don't play modern games but I face screen tearing and not showing current graphic information elsewhere: in obs preview window, in graphic software, vlc media player.
I guess there is some problem with my graphic card, because laptop has turned off (temperature has risen to 95 degrees) after 4-5 min during stress test in furMark.
Anyway, it doesn't seem like there's too much GPU performance needed for OBS and Adobe Illustrator. they rather need nice CPU productivity.
Maybe I should reinstall OS?.. or better even install win7 instead of win10 in case my hardware cannot handle well with win10.
Will be glad to hear any advice from you!

Open this link and fiddle with Windows, drivers, and monitor settings until you configure your system correctly.

Screen tearing has been a solved problem for decades; The GPU driver can even allow or force VSNYC, The OS should recognise the display and controls the desktop refresh rate (which affects all games in Fullscreen (windowed) mode, and the game should have VSYNC settings. It's that simple. Don't forget that you have multiple GPUs, both Intel and Nvidia drivers need to be working properly.

If you have problems, DDU.

Looks like an Nvidia Optimus system, with a non G-sync display.
It tries to switch between integrated graphics, and the Nvidia GPU for best battery life.
Maybe make sure you are using the 1050 and not the Intel graphics.
You can set profiles for each application.
IMO running furmark is pointless, especially on a laptop.
Good luck.

Go to nvidia control panel 3d settings global settings look for the adapter and set it to the 1050 if you haven't already, when you install the driver don't install geforce experience, also in global settings set vsync to on.

Hi,
I'd try these drivers for 1060 if not

DDU is an option to

Win-7 although not for novice users is usually a good test for sure.

You definitely shouldn't see it then, by definition. Perhaps it's not actually turned on even though it's indicated to be on. See if there are game settings which might be overriding it.

Your laptop has an IGP as well as the NVIDIA card, so could it be that you're turning vsync on in the wrong control panel? Perhaps you're running off the Intel graphics rather than NVIDIA?

Hello guys, thanks for your replies.
Report issue to nvidia
I have connected with Nvidia support and we went through all the steps some of you mentioned above, combined with what I found previously on the Internet (NVIDIA, BIOS, Intel Chipset drivers update)
DDU is an option to.
I used Nvidia CleanUp tool (is it ddu, right?) to clean all old files/drivers.
Also tried to install the previous version of nvidia driver.
Then Nvidia said me that because of my laptop display is connected with Intel HD graphics 630 (based on PhysX) I should go to Intel and update its driver.
I did and it didn't help too.
Besides I was asked to switch on V-sync, change power management mode from 'optimal power' to 'prefer maximum performance'. so I did it again.
So after 2 days communication with NVIDIA support, they finally asked me to upload a video of screen tearing.
At the end they said "it is probably a hardware issue, go to your manufacturer"
I think maybe that's it, there's some global issue with compatability of all devices that the Acer has inserted in this laptop. I mean it's so weird and upleasant: I don't play modern 3D games, I have been using the laptop mainly to watch videos, work with some apps and still have troubles, not with hard something but with
a solved problem for decades

shouldn't be my hardware power enough for it? There are 4-core 2.5GHz processor, 16 RAM, 1354MHz memory clock, 128 bit Memory-interface, 112GB/s bandwidth and the screen tearing occurs.
so I have left untried installation of win7, but I'm not sure whether it will help. Maybe I should ask Acer's community or support about this.
I'm tired and done for now. Maybe I will try something else later.
I appreciate your help

Screen tearing is nothing to do with hardware power - it's an OS/Driver/Game setting.
I can make an ancient Atom TabletPC play Skyrim on lowest settings at 8-9fps, yet it doesn't have any screen-tearing if I enable VSYNC.

Hi,
If you used this one it should be fine it actually can install the newest driver from ms store for you.

But the other is display driver uninstaller I've never used either personally

I normally just switch nvidia panel to best quality and leave it.

furmark on a laptop, thats brave, count your blessings. However, its normal for that to happen, you are, afterall, cooking the laptop from within.

you might also want to try ThrottleStop to reduce internal temps from your CPU.
