I've just started playing Rise of the Tomb Raider, it looks bloody amazing, but it doesn't have any screenshot utility and Fraps doesn't work, and neither does the Steam overlay, Any suggestions for something that works in Windows 10 and DX12?

Yes, but you have to exit out of the game and jump into an image editor each time.

Edit: I had no idea Afterburner had that ability, I had never installed the additional Rivatuner stuff. Thanks all.

Once you get used to it, it's not bad. Press it, alt-tap, have something like paint.net already open and ctrl - v.

I used Greenshot in win 8.1.

There is also the Snip it windows tool but I never tried it with a game.

Turns out Afterburner doesn't actually work in RoTR. It does work in other games I have installed, perhaps DX12 is blocking something?

I'll give Greenshot a go tonight.

Actually, it works in RoTR. It's DX12 that none of the utilities like AB or Precision work correctly. If you were to play it on DX11 you'd see it in full operation.

*I haven't checked out the recent MSI AB Beta....perhaps they've been addressing the DX12 issue in there?

Want to take screenies you gotta turn DX12 off m8. Idk of anything that works with DX12 yet. AB 4.3 Beta 4 is hit and miss and I only tested that with Forza 6.

Does'nt Afterburner,Precision all work off Rivatuner so might need to update it or wait for update to arrive

Afterburner yes, still. And the beta might work sometimes. Eventually we'll get an edition that works in 12 completely.

Precision has its roots in Rivatuner, but EVGA parted ways with the creator a couple years ago because they didn't want to pay him for his work (like anybody who creates something and helps you with your product using it should be). So they claim what Precision is now is their own utility without Rivatuner.

Luckily there are not enough DX12 games yet to make waiting for an update a problem.

OK at the risk of sounding even more stupid am I missing the joke?
