Have you ever dreamed of a device that lets you connect all kinds of IDE and SATA devices via your USB port? This is what the Kama Connect does. You can connect all EIDE and SATA drives, 5.25 and 3.5", CD/DVD-ROM and HDD to it. It is even possible to connect SATA and IDE devices at the same time and use them both. With a price of only $29 this is one of the most useful USB devices ever.

The only thing I don't like about this is that it doesn't come with the adaptor to connect laptop hard drives up.

I am more of a fan of that since it has the adaptor to do that built right into it.

This is actually nothing new, there are many other not so well known brands that also de such stuff. Like the R-Driver II USB to IDE cable which has been around for some time already. http://www.usbgeek.com/prod_detail.php?prod_id=0190 http://www.cowcotland.com/article63.html

And it's newer IDE/SATA to USB2.0 cable which I find is smaller than the scythe one and cheaper too. http://www.bonafidereviews.com/article.php?id=149 http://www.barrys-rigs-n-reviews.com/reviews/2006/hardware/sata-ide/sata-ide.htm

Comes with IDE connector for both 2.5' and 3.5' hdds. Retails in my country for about US$10

Sata is nice as most new systems have it.

Imagine being able to deploy a system image in a few minutes that you put a disk back in and boot to.
