Seagate 1tb sata 600 HDD Issue

i got a problem with my new Seagate 1tb sata 600 HDD it keeps connecting and disconnecting to my operating system i tried several different cables, but only got 2 sata 600 ports
is there a way to fix this behavior? or is it doa?

Try it in the other ports. It is a hard drive, so it won't actually use the speed provided by SATA 6G anyway.

drive it toast sadly.

faulty logic board sounds like.

try the old fridge trick, leave it in fridge(not freezer) for a hour so gets real cold and then try it. grab as much data as possible before it warms up.

this is getting insane they trade me a new harddisk same type same brand ect
problem is now, i cant get it to work.. it is detected in the bios but i cant get a partition on it and format it
im using hard disk manager 14
and this time its also detected on sata 300

edite seems to be working fine now for so far..

Try it in some other system or in an external enclosure if you have one. Might also be something funky with your system...

i find it odd that my other 2 disk are working fine and this one giving me a ton of problems

I don't know why the fridge trick would work - that only (sometimes) works for failing mechanical components such as the motor. His drive seems to have an issue with the controller, which won't be affected by the cold.

i also switched my other 2 harddisk sata ports to different ones still working fine
now this `1tb disk isn't even recognized by the bios..
