Seagate FireCuda 510 1 TB

The Seagate FireCuda 510 SSD impresses with transfer rates reaching 4 GB/s; random reads go up to 475k IOPS. Under the hood, the drive uses Toshiba 3D TLC flash paired with Hynix DDR4 DRAM. Sustained transfer rates are excellent, even when the large SLC cache is exhausted, and thermals are good, too.

Very interesting. Will just keep on buying more Inland (Micro Center) SSD since it is almost the same drive but much cheaper.......... Thanks for the info

Looks like someone finally actually modified the baseline Phison Firmware a bit. Interesting results from the thermal throttle response and the performance in general.

Isn't the Cardea MP34 also based on the Phison E12 and Toshiba flash.

I'd say this drive is probably one of the best options out there if you want a laptop drive or something where power and heat are important. My biggest gripe with the Adata SX8200 and drives based on that controller is that it's absolutely horrible wake up times, for desktops or those who want to kill deep sleep modes, it's not a problem.

I've got an Inland, its a great drive. Should be same drive different label.

Yes, and that is while Sabrent Rocket on Amazon was (in Europe with VAT) to be get for 90$ for 1TB. The same Toshiba memory with the same controller....

I had a Rocket 1TB for a bit, and ended up with my MP510 960GB.

I will say that the Sabrent had the nicest packaging, and the software tool they have to force enable 512 sector emulation for systems set up on older drives or badly configured ones and are trying to clone from the old drive, it is really handy.

It did run a touch slower than my MP510 and it seemed to run a bit hotter. It was at the time exactly the same price as the Corsair.

If it was even $5 less, I would have kept the Sabrent. It was a really solid drive and it easily took the generic Phison firmware.
