What is the difference between the two PSU's besides the fan circuit ? (Was it faulty in the original?)

Looking at used units the 1050XM comes up, but is it crap next to the new one ?

I think the only real difference is the "eco" switch that allows you to only run the fan under heavy load. Seasonic power supplies are as solid as the get and as @Bo$$ stated, "you've got nothing to worry about."

I've had a bunch of Seasonic power supplies and never had a single unit fail. I still have an older style 750 watts that still runs 24/7/365 and has been for about 5 or 6 years. :peace:

My SS-1050XM model psu has the "ECO" switch. I've had this particular unit for 4+ years and I bought it used, so there's no telling how old it is. It's run 24/7/365 with a heavy load on it since I bought it and never had any problems either.
