Well, they're cheap, and im pretty sure my 700watt psu can handle 2 3870s, and at the moment id rather spend ~$135 for a 3870 and get a high boost than sell my 3870 for like $70 and buy a $270 4870 and get a not as high boost, so according to my specs, would a second 3870 do me good? Im thinking about getting another Visiontek(I got the first version with the heatpipes) and i think the new visiontek 3870 will fit just fine in my case(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814129100), and another question, could i put it in the third pciE slot instead of the 2nd(i have some long crossfire bridges that came with my mobo) my sata ports would be in the way if i put it in the 2nd slot

You must use the third slot on you K9A2 Platinum. Otherwise all pci-e slots will run at 8x pci-e. I have this board also. I switched from 2 hd3870 in crossfire to one hd4870 and I dont reget it because the AA performance is better..

I would say no on the second 3870 and yes on the 4870. Got one this weekend and it beats the socks of the 3870. If you have 4870 you could always add another 4870 but if you buy another 3870 you will have buy two new cards if want to stick to crossfire on your next upgrade.
