Taiwan also said that China somehow "blocked" a deal with Biontech
To be honest I don't completely buy the idea that Taiwan is behind in its vaccination efforts because of China, in East Asia Japan is similarly in the single digit percentage of vaccinated people despite the incoming Olympic Games and S. Korea is fairing little better.
The distributor is in the PRC and is refusing to sell to Taiwan.

Taiwan was given 700k doses of AZ from WHO through covax, that's it, until tomorrow when 150k doses of Moderna arrives.
None of that is going to put a dent in a population of 23million+.
Taiwan is expecting to have the first local vaccine ready by July.

Terry is going to try to get Taiwan some more vaccines.

in an emergency situation, any distributors may be skipped and transactions may be made directly with the vaccine manufacturer.

That might work when you're a recognised nation. Taiwan is not.

What a stupid news item as to suggest that the manufacturer really cares about his employees and with now having more than 50,000+ people employed and those getting a monthy paycheck. Production especially in the 'people rich' (overcrowded) countries will never be curtailed as human capital is one of the lowest rungs of automatically controlled manufacturing. Life goes on and the money must flow no matter what. No work from home for these guys. One of the Bangladesh dealer boys told me at the computer show by leaning across his folding table: "We don't care what goes on with the Virus situation, we only care about making a profit and a living."

Considering that TSMC employees number almost 53,000 then 2 cases is nothing.

Nope, its trivial compared to the triple mutant Indian (B.1.617) strain spreading like wildfire.
Reporterdly existing vaccines work well aginst it. The South-African one is the one the gets past antibodies the most while the British one is the most contagious.
Thankfully we dont have a super mutant that is as (or more) contagious that the British and evades antibodies as good (or better) the the SA variant.
Tho i supect that if covid19 not eradicated within a few years everywhere (including poor 3rd world contries) then it will continue to mutate to be far worse and this whole thing (lockdowns, vaccinations) could start all over. Lets hope that does not happen as it would be a major demoralizing blow.

That's a politically contentious statement considering.

Not really if you read the article:

"But in response, Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council said China had not used any of the existing channels between the two to provide information about its vaccines, and implied that Beijing was behind Taiwan's difficulties in getting more shots.

"Every time Taiwan's internal epidemic heats up, it [China] criticises our government for obstructing the import of mainland vaccines," it said in a statement sent to Reuters."

This is expected though, it's china after all. This is the country that portrays Uighers as happy after they rounded them up and put them in camps: https://www.wsj.com/articles/facebo...traying-happy-muslims-in-xinjiang-11617366096

They've been doublespeaking for decades.

Of course I read the article, you seem to have missed the point, because you stated China offered no help, when they did (with strings attached), meaning you were wrong.

Your comments are getting worse.
How are people meant to become experts if they don't discuss and research things?
Oh that's right, just get a degree and become an instant expert.

If I go and take a dump in your house and then offer to sell you a pair of gloves to clean it up for $20, I've not helped you.

China blocking aid to Taiwan and then offering that same aid with strings attached is not help in any form of the word.

On the whole I'm certainly right. The only kind of argument that would state otherwise is one that takes piece bits out of context pointlessly without looking at the whole. It's intentfully misleading.

You are questioning the lie, it's NOT ALLOWED! /s
They don't just interact in clean rooms for example where do you think they eat ? Obviously you don,t eat with your mask on also they likely got it from outside of work.

You are not wrong, point being is, work can still continue with the right precautions.
