I just watched this video about it

And I've known this for a while, myself.

You may want to check over everything and your credit too.

TL;DW[atch] for the anti-youtube folks like myself:
Supply chain attack or sloppy factory management, a year old and seems to be resolved.

<rant> I admit that I tried to watch this thing. But after 3 minutes of fillers and crap that I wouldn't even consider circumstantial evidence (oh no! A prebuilt oem is customising its preinstalled software*! What is the world coming to!), I was fed up and just googled the damned thing for a written article! </rant>

And for those who don't like links, Acemagic gave these excuses:

"Our software developers, in an effort to enhance user experience by reducing initial boot time, made adjustments to the Microsoft source code, including network settings, without obtaining software digital signatures, and the RGB lighting control software was also without one. This oversight led to isolated reports of virus-infected mini PCs manufactured before November 18, 2023."

But in a statement sent to The Register and dated February 27, we were told "The incident stemmed from software adjustments made by developers to reduce boot times, which inadvertently affected network settings and omitted digital signatures."

Review unit just happened to be clean. But dude beat the system buying the retail units.

It's not only this company. It's also a common notebook brand with common cpu manufactuerer 2.5" SATA SSD.

Too bad it affects any operating system these days quite often.

It's the reviewers fault also to not give any negative points for ASUS armory crate, the MSI equivalent and so on... Multiple CVE. I hardly ever saw any negative points for the default active ASUS armory crate option.

Thanks for the topic. It does not affect only this company and only this issue. The hole picture is much bigger.
