Sell/trade one of my 470's?

Hey all,

I have been thinking about either selling or trading one of my GTX 470's, mainly due to issues with SLI, the fact that im only running at 1440x900 and even if i upgraded to say a 1920x1080 res monitor, one card would still be sufficient enough and the fact that the bottom card is blocking the PSU fan from intaking air.(don't want to turn PSU over due to dust, dirt etc getting into the PSU)

What do you guys/gals think?

for that screen GTX470 Sli is too much ,but it so cool to have GTX470 2 way SLI :banghead:

i have the same board,but dont see how a 470 can block PSU fan unless your using the very bottom x8 slot

I am using the slot that runs at x8, as i really don't want to have the top card dying for air.(especially with the Fermi architecture)

If you plan to finance another toy with the sale and all you games are running well enough on a single card then I say sell. Although, at the same time I did buy a 5970 simply for epeen girth.

to me you answered your own question, sell one gtx470 and get a full hd monitor plus have some change left over for a new game or just to pocket.

I was probably planning to do a side upgrade with it and maybe try a 5850. But considering my second card is now dead, I'm not to sure if it's gonna work out that way.

MSI doesn't ship to P.O. Boxes, and like i said in the other thread, if i send it to this address it's inevitable that it will get lost.

Another opinion is to return it to Amazon for a partial refund.

wow the second card is now dead?...

I'd RMA it, sell it when it comes back, and possibly look at selling the second GTX470 too. the AMD 6000 series is around the corner and I have this feeling Nv will have a nice little refresh of cards availaible around or soon after the 6000 series lands too, like a GF104 based 'GTX475' or dual GF104 based 'GTX495'

the performance of those 470's oc'ed is amazing, but in the near future there will be much less hot/space consuming way's to get the same if not better performance.
