Sempron 145 unlocking questions

Hello, well, I was going to get the following setup:

Sempron 145
ASUS M4A78LT
Kingston DDR3 @ 1333 2x2GB

So, doing some research I read that many Sempron 140 unlock a second core, and I also read that some 145 do the same.

I was wondering if the TDP of the processor will be the same after do the unlock (If it's successful, of course), since I'll have another core running and generating heat that must be dissipated. But would it be necessary to get an aftermarket cooler or does the stock heatsink can handle it?

Also, should I crank up the voltage a little bit to maximize stability?

The tdp would change but stock cooler should be fine.
Check stability before upping core volts and nudge it up a bit if neaded keeping an eye on cpu temp of course.
Unlocked cores don't always work btw.

Here's some good info on core unlocking.

Hope it works! It's not guaranteed, but it's not very uncommon either.

I had a Sempron 130 that unlocked but had really weird instability (graphical corruption in web browsers, etc) and no amount of voltage could fix it. As said above, it isn't completely guaranteed to work.

I just did the same with mine and was wondering the same.

I can't monitor the temperature now. Have you been able to do it?

You lose the onboard temp probe when unlocking.

Thank you for replying.

I see that now.

This is the first time ever I do something like this. I wanted to monitor the temp for a few days. I don't do any extreme use of this PC. Just internet stuff and maybe the heaviest thing would be some Photoshop and that's it. Ocasionally burn some DVDs or encode movies. That's all.

Anyway, as I want to monitor the temperature for a few days as I don't want it to overheat or melt, lol...
What can I do? Is there any option?
Or just adding an extra fan to the case would be enough?

Any help will be much appreciated.

there is a good rate of unlocking. about 80% of the people are able to unlock!

apparently these are made from dual core phenom dies with one locked core and locked L3

My grandfather has a 145 it unlocks and bios reads it as a 4450e, but I couldn't get into windows.
