After releasing two excellent gaming headsets, Sennheiser is at it again with the GSP 550, an open-back model with USB connectivity. That alone makes it quite unique, but does it also make it worth the high asking price of $250/€250? We are here to find out.

Most of the price is probably for headphones and microphone, that card is probably pretty cheap.

Decent headphones cant be too cheap due physics.

Looks wise I like. Wrong match my cheap hyper X or my qpad headphones for comfort.

I still dont have a headset after my long lasted Razer Charcharias died 3 years ago.

Now i want something nuts so this pair of headset are very attractive to me

I don't buy Sennheiser anymore, I've had a bunch, HD570, HD280 Pros, Momentum, and the cords eventually fail. The sound quality is terrible too. My current ATH-M50X and Antlion Mod Mic with Syba USB audio adapter is 4 years old and still going strong, sounds great.

I opened this review thinking "if my AudioQuest DragonFly" set me back $200, these must offer pretty good value". Reading the review it became obvious my expectations were unrealistically high.

Think there is a bit of difference between dedicated DAC for 200 USD and headphones with DAC for 250 USD. Its not even comparable.

Being honest, for 'gaming DSP' purposes if it must be USB, you are much better off with their GSX1000 + GSP 500 rather than the 550 IMO.

That being said, you start getting into some very expensive territory, for a set of cans that simply aren't well tuned for music.
