I read some stuff online a few months back that hinted that it could be on the cards but cant find any other info.

Not happening any time soon,

BF4 is still modern military. That comes out in the fall, it will have a two year cycle just like BF3 so your at least 2 years - 3 years away from potentially any concrete info about a sequal to 2142

I'm so bored of the games out there right now... BF2142 was so much fun when it came out, put so many hours into it!

Publishers really need to lay the Modern Combat Shooter to rest, It's telling when the prospect of a WW2 Shooter actually sounds exciting. Imagine a remake of BF1942 with Frostbite 2... shiver...
