Yeah, you're right. I had stopped reading that stuff after the first couple useless fictional sentences.

That's why I put it in bold for you. You know, you should treat others as you wish to be treated. It's one thing if you just missed it the first time, it's another to reply maliciously to those that are trying to have a genuine conversation.

I imagine W1zzard does. It takes time to do a thorough review like he does. It will probably be ready to post right when the embargo is lifted.

I'm sure he can't speak of it yet, but rumor is they are allowed to unbox them tomorrow Sep 30th and that the embargo lifts on Oct 5th (next Wed). Retail on Oct 12/13.

Assuming it's not a complete unmitigated dumpster fire (small brush fires are fine, it's 1st gen), and that I can find one of the A770FE cards @$349ish (Intel branded), I'll be getting one. I'm rebelling against these fat-arse nvidia cards and the stagnating midrange market.

The determining factor for whether it's worth using or not is support for DP4a instructions. Any Nvidia cards back to and including Pascal support them, and I can confirm that my GTX 1070 sees healthy gains with XeSS enabled. AMD cards are worse off however. Only the 5500 XT, Radeon VII and RDNA2 support DP4a, meaning any other AMD cards (including the 5700 XT) aren't going to benefit from XeSS, which is a shame.
Real, but on a 5700XT you will have FSR in any game, FSR 2.0 in supported games and some games with dlss2.0 can be modded to work with fsr 2.0, you really need XeSS today? And in about another year when MAYBE XeSS will be better supported, your 5700xt will be 4 y.o.

I have nothing against another competitor, but objectively, they need to be comparable to FSR on eg Nvidia cards (non-AMD/non-Intel) to be really considered a valid competitor. With 0% market share they can't play same game as Nvidia with proprietary hardware, they need to have rough parity to FSR on non-Intel hardware and be better than Nvidia on Intel hardware. But hey, first gen, first try. If they survive after Battlemage release we can then make actual comparisons. I honestly cheer for future similar to FreeSync, where one of the three becomes sort of standard and is used by all 3 manufacturers more or less equally, THEN we will have a real breakthrough for average gamer.

I just tried XeSS in Death Stranding... haven't seen such a vaseline filter since ages.
