Hi, here is my problem.
I have wireless router giving internet access to 3 machines
1 laptop (wireless)
2 desktops (wired)
Internal IP addresses as follows:
Router ----- ip:192.168.1.1
Laptop ----- ip:192.168.1.2, gw:192.168.1.1, msk:255.255.255.0
Desktop1 --- ip:192.168.1.3, gw:192.168.1.1, msk:255.255.255.0
Desktop2 --- ip:192.168.1.4, gw:192.168.1.1, msk:255.255.255.0
I'd like to eliminate the wired conection on both desktops, but have only one pci wireless adapter and I don't want to buy another.
So I'm gonna put the pci wireless adapter on Desktop1, then connect a ethernet cable from Desktop1 to Desktop2 becuase they are very close.
Setting wireless adapter on Desktop1 as follows:
ip:192.168.1.3, gw:192.168.1.1, msk:255.255.255.0
I dont know which would be settings on ethernet adapter at desktop 1 and 2, in order to have internet access and network sharing on all three machines.
I was thinking something like this:
Router ----- ip:192.168.1.1
Laptop ----- ip:192.168.1.2, gw:192.168.1.1, msk:255.255.255.0
Desktop1 --- ip:192.168.1.3, gw:192.168.1.1, msk:255.255.255.0 (wireless)
Desktop1 --- ip:192.168.1.4, gw:192.168.1.1, msk:255.255.255.0 (wired)
Desktop2 --- ip:192.168.1.5, gw:192.168.1.4, msk:255.255.255.0 (wired)
But I'm not sure if it will work properly. Can you help me? Thanks on advance.-
