My Antec Kulher 620 started to make some grinding noises but sadly it doesn't seem to be because of air bubbles as the RPMs have fallen to 500-600 RPM (CPU is doing 60C at idle) so I think is a bearing or something. Sounds like a fan giving in. Putting the pump/block in an horizontal position with the logo facing down gets rid of the noise.
The bad (good?) thing is that I'll have to deal with Antec themselves but I don't know if it's worth the hassle as I'll have to ship them the cooler at my cost. Anyone has any experience with them in terms of international RMAs? It has been almost a year since I bought it, got it on 22/9/2012.
Now Antec's warranty states:
Antec states that the 620 has a MTBF of 50,000 hours (5.8 years), of course being a median it means that there are cases where it would fail before the MTBF but I wouldn't expect that to be before even getting to one year of use (real time would be about 3 months at most, 2200 hours or so). As I see it the cooler is practically "new" in terms of hours used/MTBF but I don't know how Antec handles that.
