Should (Could) I RMA my Kuhler 620?

My Antec Kulher 620 started to make some grinding noises but sadly it doesn't seem to be because of air bubbles as the RPMs have fallen to 500-600 RPM (CPU is doing 60C at idle) so I think is a bearing or something. Sounds like a fan giving in. Putting the pump/block in an horizontal position with the logo facing down gets rid of the noise.

The bad (good?) thing is that I'll have to deal with Antec themselves but I don't know if it's worth the hassle as I'll have to ship them the cooler at my cost. Anyone has any experience with them in terms of international RMAs? It has been almost a year since I bought it, got it on 22/9/2012.

Now Antec's warranty states:

Antec states that the 620 has a MTBF of 50,000 hours (5.8 years), of course being a median it means that there are cases where it would fail before the MTBF but I wouldn't expect that to be before even getting to one year of use (real time would be about 3 months at most, 2200 hours or so). As I see it the cooler is practically "new" in terms of hours used/MTBF but I don't know how Antec handles that. :ohwell:

I don't think it is. Getting a new fan would be faster and cheaper.

They don't seem to have an international toll-free number. I'm going to have to pay for the return shipping, at the very least they could keep me from spending more.

I guess I'll keep civil it within their forums for now. If in another week they still don't get someone to pick up my case number I suppose the trash talk will have to come. I just hate when corporations are slow like that, this is supposed to be a recurring procedure, it's not like I'm the first person to ever RMA something to them.

:banghead: So Antec referred me back to the retailer but the retailer says that Antec should honor the RMA, not them.

All this bickering wouldn't bother me that much if not because they take their sweet time to respond. It sucks RMAing things from a second class market.

Back to the waiting game. In the mean time, I'll get an H110 (not that I'd expect Corsair's support to be any better but my case supports 280mm rads so...) Once I get the RMA going (if ever) I'll sell the 620 or maybe I'll keep it as a backup.
