Is Vista any better at fixing itself? I never crashed it to see. Someone currupt the registry and see if it recovers AUTOMATICALLY from the backup.

so i've got this copy of vista just sitting here, i don't really feel like dual booting but i want to use it, will it make a huge dent in game performance or will i still be able to run cod4 maxed out like i do now?? BTW i'm goin to be upgrading to vista with the pc in my specs.

I saw no dent in performance when switching to Vista x64, in fact, I saw increases in performance. I would certainly do the switch.

Dude it`s f@£ked. A LOT of games show worse performance. I found it was worth trying to see the difference dx 10 makes in some games. So try dual-booting (if it doesn`t intimidate you)

I agree... try dual boot, I believe this way you will enjoy the benefits of both!:toast:

BTW, 64x windows are faster (both vista and xp) than 32x... but not everything is combatible with them...:wtf:

If you’re going to try it go with VISTA 64 better performance you may want to try dual boot it is different to XP. And it will take some time to learn where things are.
How people forget what XP was like when it came out regular BSOD driver issues ect..

I am on vista with sp1 beta all the crossfire sli fixes and it runs everything at xp speeds or probably 1% slower so if you loose 3fps on 30 or more who cares, vista is alot more stable for other stuff as well... I have xp on dual boot but I dont bother with it since the service pack for vista has pretty much fixed the memory problems and also allows sli or crossfire , Im playing crysis at 25 to 50 fps on Very high at 1920x1200 except for post proc set at high .
