I usually play r6 siege and other online games like heroes of the storm, battlefield 3,GTA online stuff like that i barely play single player games like ac origins etc.

Is my system fine or should i start saving money for the future upgrade?
Or should i upgrade my headset and soundcard they are working perfectly anyway.
I have never had a single issue with my setup r6 siege runs at 75 fps stable vsync on and other games too except gta online on 60fps all of them running on very high settings except ac origins.
I actually want to get nzxt hue+ for my pc case but not sure if it is worth im really confused.

One Should "ALWAYS SAVE " and a future upgrade is always in the Future unless you have the money to upgrade :).
It also come's in handy if something goes wrong and you need cash for imediate Repairs/replacments or Some other life Problem.
Your Spec's look good for the foreseeable Future.Maybe up the Ram to 8 min or 16gig

Almost every game should work to 2011 whit dual cores, then 2016 four core and now 8 core processor is needed whit something like gtx1070 for new open world high graphics games.
battlefield 3 is tied to Origin i cannot understand how you can like that.

Fast quad is Generaly more than Adequate most games Still cannot use multi cored CPU's Properly YET
Even those that can use 6 or more cores are Happy with a Quad
"I KNOW OF NO GAME THAT DEMANDS AN 8 CORE CPU"
some games may run better with 8 Cores but at the moment they do not DEMAND IT

Stop spouting baseless nonsense please. 4c/4t at a decent clock will run anything in 2018 especially with his GPU, its good balance.

@OP: I know one thing: investing in a better GPU will serve you much better than wasting cash on Hue+. If budget is a consideration, RGB should be bottom priority I think, and a 1050ti will be pretty weak pretty soon (it is lower/budget midrange today).

Saving up money is never a bad idea. Try to put the money to work if you can ,into something that is safe ,but yet earn' some interest if that's a possibility.

(in regards to a gaming Pc)
With that said, a new gpu wouldn't be a terrible idea, but anybody buying a video card in this market is making a terrible decision. Prices are slowly dropping ,and stock & inventory are slowly replenishing. Waiting longer will save you more money. A GTX 1080 (or any other part) is not worth more than its msrp to anyone with common sense, so I would recommend that ,yes ,you save your money , and in the meantime enjoy the PC you have. Only a sucker pays over MSRP, because adults have patience, and having patience pays. And then you make a purchase at the right time.

CPU's, cases, PSU's, and Motherboards are pretty much at MSRP across the board.

i recently bought the following at VERY reasonable prices.

8600k -$230
Asrock Extreme 4 Z370- $160
Seasonic Focus + Gold 750W- $80 (sells for less than the 650W)
Fractal design Meshify C- $80

the Ram is still a bitch, and i HAD to buy it to complete the build, so i paid a suckers price of- $89 for 8Gb's
I didnt need a GPU, but if i had, it would have been something i waited on. but if you have the $$ , you could buy the rest of the PC, and run your 1050 until the GPU prices reach a sensible price range. Remember, Your money wont lose value (beyond its standard fluctuation) but, the sellers components WILL devalue, and THEY are the ones who NEED us to buy, its not the other way around.

i recommend you use pcpartpicker.com and even addons like "Honey" to help you find the lowest prices and best deals on the parts your interested in buying.

Good Luck

It looks like it could use upgrading across the board but not now. The price of just about all computer components is ridiculous. Save up and wait for at least until 2019 then reevaluate.

Today, there is no way i would start with a quad core without HT. There are enough titles already (a minority indeed) that scale with more than 4 threads, so this would be a minimum for me... like 8gb. If im building, i want it to last and that would NOT included a quad core no ht...

Anyway, op has a 1050ti...id barely call that a gaming card as it cant run many titles in ultra and use aa at 1080p. Id save for a better system, yes. Once prices drop, maybe late this year, then see whats up.

1050 Ti is a pretty good little gaming card IMO. Even at 1080p, you don't need to slide everything to max or "Ultra" to get good visuals and a generally good gaming experience. Often "Tweaked High" settings can be easily 60FPS+ on 1050 Ti in a lot of games and look almost as good as Ultra at vastly lower requirements. And AA isn't really essential IMO. *shrug*

Sorry, I simply prefer my PC to look better than my consoles when gaming. ;)

AA at 1080p is "essential" to most people. Nobody likes jaggies and 1080p has a bunch without it.

A 1050Ti is a decent gaming card if you can accept those reductions in IQ. But if we are already starting out with reduced settings, that doesn't bode well for the future. For a gaming 1080p gaming machine, 1060 or bust IMO.

If you have the itch now, you might consider bumping up your RAM to 16GB.
If your OS and is not on your SSD, you might consider moving it to the SSD, or buying a bigger SSD for your OS and your games.

Otherwise, I agree to just save your money.

1. saving money is never a bad idea, so thats up to you,

2. since you said that the computer never brought you problems, you already answered your question, and also, like most people say here, get a better video card, GTX 980ti, GTX 980, or 1060 6GB and up, never get GTX 1060 3GB, its a waste of money,

3. pretty important, 16GB ram, sweet spot for most games and performance,

Regards,

I don't even own a console so meh. I've been gaming at 1080p on an RX 560 2GB lately and I still argue my gaming experience is superior to that of a console :) My laptop has a Mobile GTX 1050 4GB and even that handles games like Dying Light and Fallout 4, at impressive settings (without AA at 1080p or 900p because even with 900p at 15.6" jaggies aren't really a problem for me).

Either way a friend is giving my his XFX RX 480 8GB this week so I can finally play at 1440p again.

That's strange... For 1080p the 1060 3gb is actually exactly what's needed...
I keep seeing people say it's no good but for 1080p it's an awesome card...
That said 1080p is it's limit...
I currently have a 1060 3gb in my Ryzen 1400 setup and it runs just about any game with high-ultra settings @1080p 53+fps...

Yes compared to my 1070ti it is crap... Lol
But for a $380 difference in price it better be...

The i5 4440 was my old cpu, getting a 1060 will give a nice boost, anything higher will be a little bottlenecked. It's only boosting at 3.3Ghz. But looking at the current situation, you are better off saving some money, and wait for at least summer for an uppgrade. Q3 2018 is where Nvidia expect price to settle a little, and they will maybe launch something.
If your goal is 60 fps on online game, the i5 will do fine for a while, I only changed because some of the apps that i'm using were choking with 4 cores/4threads.

Consoles use mixed settings. They dont use "High" preset. They dont use "Ultra" presets. They use mixed Medium-High-Low settings. So a 1050 Ti will beat a PS4 or Xbox One at 1080P in settings and/or FPS.

Besides, there is a small difference in 99% of games between Ultra and High. Too small to really matter really. So he is fine. It isnt like in the Golden Age of PC Gaming where Ultra was REAL Ultra and no GPUs or CPUs could do it and it was worth it (though barely, lets be real even then it wasnt a big difference).

Also, PC Gaming has more and more important advantages over consoles and console gaming. Modding, emulation, backwards compatibility, gigantic amount of exclusives by default. Even an APU 2200G is a better overall gaming machine than an Xbox One X due to those facts.

You are preaching to the choir on someof this stuff. That said, there is still a difference in many titles. If you want to pc game like a console, thats ok too...and that is what a 1050ti gives you...immediate sacrifice of IQ. Not ideal for me now...no way in hell tomorrow and the next...

A 1050 Ti will never game like a console...it is a LOT faster than a PS4 or Xbox One and weaker than a PS4 Pro (by very little) or Xbox One X (which is GTX 1060/RX 580 level in the GPU).

And in which games? Also, if you find games where there is a bigger difference between High and Ultra... what about mixed settings there? Choose carefully :p

Bud, the point is that I or many people prefer to run settings where its better than a console, typically ultra. The 1050ti cant really run a majority of titles at 1080p using ultra settings and AA required at 60 fps+.

If people are good with sacrificing IQ to make things playable, that is them. To me, its a barely capable 1080p card for how i like to play PC games. I understand sometimes the d8fference isnt big, but that really isnt the point either. ;)

Technically speaking, it will run a majority of all games ever made on Ultra. And a fair share of fairly modern titles at Ultra.

OK we got it. You like to play games at Ultra. I am fairly certain you cant tell the difference between Ultra and Custom settings in most (not all!) titles, but fair to you.

Still, the point is, a 1050 Ti is good. It plays very good. It gives a great experience in most games. And PC Gaming is more than just silly visuals. That is a small pro among titanic ones.
