Should I stay with the i7-4770k or go for the Haswell Refresh

With stock, no but thats nothing out of the ordinary. A stock cooler is not designed for any extreme clocking and rarely can even allow more than 100mhz boost in clocks.

Im guessing what they mean is that the overclock would be achievable on something like a Hyper 212.

Yes indeed, my 2600K still running 4.8-5.2 on air and with the ole modded skt 478 NinjaPlus Rev.B cooler !
If those chips indeed will retrofit I may have to break down and get that latest Skulltrail board and start again !!

Other than that, I'm like the other's, stay put

ghost these are going to ship with 4ghz turbo so 5ghz with air has to be on the cards, like sandy
