Should I wait for the 8000 series?

Graphic card is really outdated, finally have money to buy a new card and my friends mentioned the new 8000 series getting released so maybe I should wait a bit before I buy one.

I read it and this is what I understand:

The 8000 series gets released as the old 7000 series but...different?

I don't really know anything about graphic cards so I am not entirely sure.

Well whats your current card and power supply? And what resolution do you play at?

I would gun for this little guy though EVGA 02G-P4-3651-KR GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2GB 128-bit...

Its like 20% faster then the HD7770s, and only $10 over the budget.

I don't think he needs that much GPU with a C2D cpu and 4GB ram. The 650 is the sweet spot.

OP if you are intending to stick with the C2D for a while yet, then going with the 650 would be the best bet.
If you pan to upgrade to new model intel CPU sometime this year then then looking at a more powerful graphics card now will be a better option.

your CPU will probably bottleneck anything thats faster then a 650/660ti. Just get that Gigabyte 650ti 2GB card and that shoudl be good.
