I want to start off by asking if this PSU will be sufficient to run 2 Gigabyte RTX 3070's?

Rest of the build:

Xeon E3-1270 V2
16GB DDR3 1600 RAM
500GB SSD
2X Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX 3070

Peak power consumption rise up to 242W for one card. So 1000W power supply will be enouth for these two and the rest system

Now regarding this PSU, what do you think? Do you think it would be decent enough for my rig or do you think its a potential meltdown?

Alright. Thanks mate for the help.

I ended up purchasing it.

I am curious who makes this PSU though. Previous one (1000M) was apparently Superflower. 1000M-2 must be different cause previous had 7 years warranty and this has 5 years warranty.

Cant seem to find much information on this.

Yes, there is few information here. I can't give you exact answer but I can give you some guesses.

Firstly it looks like the second generation use 100% same case as the first gen. When they use different OEMs, case design usually is bit different. So there is a possibility, that it is still Super Flower.

3,3V 20A & 5V 20A + 100W combined creates possibility that Leadex Gold III Platform is used. However there is no 1000W model in the Super Flower lineup, but there is possibility that there was request to make custom high wattage model.

Why thank you!

If you are interested, I can always open it when I get it to check to see what it has inside.

Gotta do that with the Aresgamer PSU I got as well.

I highly doubt it's Leadex. I mean, for starters, this is Newegg's in-house we're talking about.

The original Capstones (damn, they're old, they make me feel old lol) are built off SF Golden Green, a pretty old platform even for the time. There was talk that Rosewill switched OEMs somewhere along the line (can't blame SF for not wanting to make Golden Green anymore), I just can't remember which one it was. Basically, don't expect worse than the original, but don't expect better either. I'm 95% sure it's not Leadex.

Anyways, it's definitely not fire hazard material. As long as it's got good components, a decent design and a strong 12V rail with enough W, you'll be fine.

Since there is lack information about this unit, it would be really useful for others who are interested in this PSU. The problem is that you will loose warranty

I think that there is more than 5% chance that there is Leadex. That could be cheaper version of the platform with cheaper internal components. Ofcourse possibility that it is not Leadex is still high

There are lot of different OEMs for the Rosewill PSUs. They are selling Andyson, Sirtec, ATNG, Enhance PSUs.

I may lose warranty, I may not. All depends on the warranty laws here in Canada to which I can't get a straight answer.

So next best option is to heat up the sticker, carefully remove it and then open up PSW to then re-apply sticker back when done.

I still can't believe you paid $149 for a 1000 Watt PSU with more than a 3 year warranty. Even semi modular. I look forward to your critique.

Is that a good or bad "I can't believe" comment?

That is nothing but good. I have used Rosewill PSUs ever since other PSUs have become stupid. My nephew just bought the Asus Strix 1000 W for $299 which is double the price.

Just so we're on the same page, is there a specific reason for two 3070s? You know SLI is disabled now, right? I'm curious.

1. because it's a striking resemblance to the raidmax cobra (definitely not a superflower build)

2. rosewill has a relationship with anydson

chassis is similar but not exact. I can kinda see how the innards are somewhat similar in layout. But besides that, do we know for sure?

And also, quality of it?

Edit: Someone else said on Reddit it is Andyson as well. Damn, I wonder how good the quality is though?

Guess I wont know till I open the PSU. Cant return it now as its in shipping.

the color scheme used is a dead give away, if you showed me that pic I would say to you it's anydson or someone doing their best anydson impression

quality? You are talking about an OEM that does half assed soldering and cuts corners; cheap parts, cheap glue, and cheap fans. I don't think it's a bomb (unless something important comes unglued) and it's probably loud at higher demands compared to better quality units. If it was me and I owned it I would not push it past 60% load. If I was shopping for a 1000w unit, I would keep looking.

you can always refuse delivery and get a full refund

They just dump it in front of my house. They don't hand it to me.

Well, I'll be running two 3070's with.

you can bring it back to carrier or schedule a pick up, just write "refuse" on the box. We sell on newegg (among other sites) and it happens to us

Will I get full refund?

I see on Newegg the option to return item.

Should I do that? I didn't get it. Or should I just refuse order?

Updated my question regarding if I should do online return or just outright refuse.

so if you refuse, you don't pay for shipping but the shipping box can't be opened
if you go online return and state you just don't want/like it they will probably make you pay for shipping unless you are part of their shipping club
if you go online return and state it doesn't work, they have pay for shipping but they may be jerks and want to send you a replacement. You can tell them no (it's your right), you want a full refund.
