SilentiumPC comes out of nowhere to deliver a 1-2 combo of performance and value with the Fera 5 and Fera 5 Dual Fan CPU coolers. While simple and traditional in terms of design, both of these entry-level heatsinks trade blows with far more popular offerings.

SilentiumPC air coolers, cases, AiOs and PSUs are go to stuff in Poland, all good non excellent. Adding to that decent gaming mouses, headphones and mechanical keyboards.

SPC Spartan and Fera are solely responsible for killing Arctic 34 esports duo and Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo in Poland, better and cheaper.

hummm.....

Maybe they are "da bomb" in Poland, but IMHO, cooling my cpu is NOT something I wanna cheap out on, therefore this would be a no-buy for me, not to mention the ho-humm, same-ole-same-same/no design effort product that won't do anything special that other coolers already do quite well for about the same or just a few $$ moar...

There is no point buying the dual fan package if it makes very little difference at all.

Judging by its performance on both platforms. Either the mounting pressure isnt great/base of the unit not entirely flat so not making the best contact with the CPU or the supplied fans are junk and youre better off looking at different coolers.

Something being cheap doesn't mean it is bad. On a lot of bigger brands you are paying the premium on the logo on it, not the materials used.

The dual fan over my end is about 5USD more expensive. If you want you can have a back up fan for 5 bucks or use it with two fans.

It's totally not junk. In fact, very respectable cooler. I don't see any reason why results could suggest uneven surface. Besides that, Fera 5's fan idles at lower rpm and tops out at lower rpm than 212 evo rgb, also heatsink itself seems to be somewhat smaller. The fact alone that it performs nearly the same as 212 evo rgb is excellent. The only problem is that Deepcool Gammax 400 EX, which looks beefier is 5 Euros cheaper and might be a better performing cooler. And at 10 Euros more, you can get dual tower Deepcool Neptwin V2, which will certainly perform better than Fera 5. And also SilentiumPC's Fortis 3, which has 140mm fan, but costs only 3 Euros more than Fera 5. Fera 5 then simply becomes an average option that neither fails, but doesn't excel either. But compared to 212 Evo, it's just a decent value product with pretty much nothing different. Anyway, coolers like this are still way better buys than from more well known brands, they don't suck and perform well. I'm not sure what else you could possibly want out of air cooler. The only truly steal deal is Gammaxx 400 R, a full 120mm tower cooler for only 17 Euros.

razer blade test, there are gaps meaning the surface has both high and low spots, so while flat its not perfectly flat meaning more time spent on the base would likely improve performance however, the difference would still be rather minimal. Still its an area that could be improved on over time via the factory they work with etc.

I never called the cooler junk. I called the fans junk.
And what of them is junk? They perform well.

Where was that test?

I noted it in the review during the closer look. I don't bother taking photos of everything I do but I do check the base for general flatness and make note of it. If its really bad or problematic then I will take separate photos example being the Corsair A500.

I hope SilentiumPC are paying you well for repping their products even if it didn't actually perform that well

Trudat, however, with some products, paying a few moar $$ will get you better quality materials AND better QA/QC before it even hits the packaging machines :)

Yeah mate, they are paying me zero dollars. How hard could it possibly be to believe that I just think that you can't judge coolers properly? Obviously it's better to start believing in some conspiracies and shit. Even in review it is mentioned that cooler performs good, has great value, I'm not even sure what else you could possibly want out of cooler. Even less I understand, why are you shitting on it.

Again youre totally missing the point of my of my original argument but im not going to waste more time trying to put it across to you as you either ignored it and seem pretty defensive of the product being reviewed.

Have a good day.

It depends. Dual fans increase pressure, but not airflow. Obviously on open test bench they are nearly useless, but if you have a case full of cables, cards, restricted intake and etc, dual fan version might be exactly what you need. It might very well perform better in scenario that I mentioned. And if you have lower needs for pressure, hey it's a pretty cheap fan that you can mount to case. For cheap cooler and assuming cheaper buyer, that might be a nice thing. I personally used second fan of Mugen 4 PCGH as case exhaust as it also made little difference. Most dual fan coolers don't benefit much from that second fan. Now if cooler fin stack was more dense, had smaller gaps, second fan would be crucial, but seemingly no one makes super dense coolers. Anyway, rather than writing it off, I would give it a benefit of doubt.

This is a bit off-topic, but you most likely could stack fan on fan and achieve similar result (more pressure).

Your second point was that it doesn't perform well and I already said everything about that. It performs reasonably well, very well at budget. If you want more, but still at great price, then Deepcool Neptwin V2 it is, but it costs 40 Euros.

Manufacturers: "Lets make decent product and sell it 5 USD cheaper than competitors. Buyers will enjoy extra savings and will choose us instead of better known brands."

TPU forums: "Add those 5 USD for a better quality products"

Acctually it is one of the cheapest coolers in the market it is worth to buy. So it is must have thing for those who still stucked with stock cooler and dont have much money to invest into cooling

They killed Hyper 212s in Romania as well(we are very close to Poland)
I bought a Fortis 3 cooler from SilentiumPC for the same price of a hyper 212.A huge 140mm fan cooler vs a 120mm fan cooler.Easiest decision ever.
I will buy more products from them in the future like cases(insane price perf ratio) and if i get a 12th gen intel processor i will def get a cooler from them.
They are so much better than much of the competition here in Romania, price/perf ratio wise, and i dont see a reason why i wont buy more stuff from them.

I bought this cooler some days ago, i'm very impressed performance and work culture. I'm use on i5-10600K, temperatures on load is satisfie (76 celsius degress) in computer case Phanteks P600S. In this price don't have competition. I'm recommend.

Except what you are saying simply doesn't make sense.
The difference-maker in performance is the size. Considering that noise normalized this "single" Fera 5 performs exactly the same as almost Noctua U12S and be quiet Dark Rock Slim which are BOTH heavier than Fera 5(Noctua is actually 200g heavier) i would say that this fan must be really goddamn amazing.
I would love for TPU to check this fan on a different, more popular cooling like the Hyper 212 for example.
Also the biggest thing that shows how good this is this fan is the fact that Fera 5 actually performs better than both her older "bigger brothers" - SilentiumPC Grandis 3(twin tower) and Fortis 3(140mm).
