The Inquirer was searching around for a reason due to which manufacturers are not producing more HDMI capable cards, and it came to an interesting conclusion. Silicon Image has the HDMI chip monopole (at least for the graphic card segment), and basically without a Silicon Image chip on your card, you have no HDMI. According to The Inquirer, the situation should improve in the near future.
