So, there's a built-in 10 fan fan hub. The 3 front fans and a molex for the PSU are connected out of the box. The rear fan's connector looks just like the front 3 fans' connectors, but will not fit any of the free fan connections on the hub. I took one of them off and the molex connector also and the holes in their connectors are flush with the bottom of the connectors while the holes on the rear fan's connector are not. They are raised a smidgen above being flush and so when I try to line up the pins on the hub with the holes on the connector, the bottom of the connector makes contact with the hub preventing the pins being inserted into the holes.

Is this a common thing to have happen? Is it poor manufacturing quality control? Am I doing something wrong? What do I need to do to fix this? Just buy a new connector and splice it in?

You simply install the fan to the connector with the tabs on the fan leads facing down. Since there is no support for the pins, they can sometimes bend toward the PCB. Even so, you should be able to connect the fan partially, then jiggle the connection until the pins lift enough that the connection seats properly.

I was attempting to install the connector w/the tabs facing down. If I were to jiggle the pins in order to get the connector to fit, the pins would bend up, or towards the back of the case as opposed to down or towards the pcb. Is that safe or would I break the pins in the attempt?

They will likely have to be lifted (the pins) to get it installed properly.

The pins are a bit tougher than you would think. They can take a bit of bending here and there.

Thank you very much. It went in easily. I was just afraid I'd break something or something wasn't built to spec on my new case.
