Is anyone aware of basic and simple free PDF editor that does not come with any malware/adware/crapware, and which possibly doesn't even need to be installed?

That's not free. The installer almost burned my eyes out, and by default it installs some toolbar. That's not what I am looking for.

I've not used it in a couple years, but I've never ran into that problem in the past.. but I did just check it out again and yea... not free any longer.

EDIT: I marked through that suggestion in the event someone else doesn't try it or suggest it.

When I worked for a college newspaper, I had access to Adobe's official tools, and even they suck. I don't think PDFs are really meant to be edited easily.

I've used FoxIt Free for a while...buy iirc the free version has an ad only to buy pro...I never really notice anymore. Though for a free one it works well and you can get it thru Ninite.com to have no extra crap installed with it. For a free solution not sure I can suggest better...though in all honesty I haven't needed better...

Inkscape 0.91 can handle complex PDFs, and let you modify whatever you want. You can export to PDF again.

But heck, I just have a PDF that is MEANT to be edited and printed as a finished document. Why do things have to be so complicated?

I have used Foxit Reader with FireFox in the past, I don't know if they have an online version, but download was painless.
