Single raptor Vs Raid-0 Raptor

is this still accurate?

i was talking to a geek squad guy (a co-worker) and he was saying that 2 rapotrs in raid 0 are not going to give you better performance than a single Raptor . is this true?

I didnt even see tests between the different stripe sizes in that article.
Hardly a decent test.

That coupled with the fact that they used a stopwatch to time how long it took the game to load just doesnt cut it for me. Old chipset too.

Who has raptors!? Lets put this to the test lol

Raid 0 raptors are better than a single drive, however the difference is negligible

Maybe with a good setup youd get a bigger difference between the single and raid setup.
A good raid card would be a good start.
Im guessing that its the RAID controller limiting the throughput of the drives.

Well is there any benchmarks? I want some hard evidence to prove him wrong lol. So if anybody can find some or maybe take some plz post them.

I had a magazine a few months ago that tested all of the raids and strip sizes against raptors. I don't remember what is was, but I think two raptors in raid was somewhere around 3% better.
