hey i have a decent system(for me anyways...really really broke...but still like to play games)...my sys p4 prescott 800 fsb skt 478...2 gig corsair ddr400...x800gto agp with 16 pipes...w/ 2 sata hd's.......i just really feel like the abit is-10 crappy mobo is really holding me back alittle...to get to the point...i was really wondering if there are any m-atx skt 478 mobo's out there that alow for alittle overclocking??? i jus wanna kinda play around with some light oc'ing on my mobo and ram...nothing too serious....however..the only m-atx that i can find is made by asrock..which i am not familiar with at all.....anywho..if anybody is aware of any possibilities that are open for me i would appreciate the input....thanks

p.s...by the way...i AM aware of how much slower my sys is to the new cpu's and ddr2...but i am really broke...so a cheap upgrade for my current sys is really all that i can afford....so please...no rich kids telling me i'm wasting my time, i work and pay the bills...nd i'm getting married...nooo money

....i meant no offense by the previous statement....i am sure that all of the other reasonable adults on these forums understood my intentions perfectly..

The ASROCK P4i65G is essentially the discount replacement for the ASUS p4p800-vm which has been discontinued. http://www.asrock.com/product/P4i65G.htm

I've got both. The ASUS is superb but does not allow FSB overclocking. The ASROCK does allow overclocking. It is very stable. You can get a 2.8MHz P4 Northwood to 3.2+Ghz easy, if you've got good RAM and good cooling.

NOTE that it has only 2 DDR slots.

You can clock it to 3200+ no problem, maybe higher... but you will also be able to fry your eggs for breakfast on the heatsink. The prescotts are hot.

no prob.

the 2 ddr slots is no prob for me...i already have 2 gig's ddr....i was just worried...never heard of asrock before though it might be a lemon....good to hear though...can't wait to learn the basics of cpu overclocking...(so when i finally get my core duo...i can clock the shit outa it)

Dont worry, ASROCK is pretty good. I've had ZERO problems. Very nice BIOS for a budget m/b.
