Skyrim DVD Will Still Allow Mods?

Hi guys,
So I just found a good deal on Skyrim, but it is not the downloadable version on Steam. It is a retail (New) sealed package sold by someone. My question is, do I simply copy the CD key from the box and put it into the Steam? I want to be able to download Mods, and from what I heard, you need Skyrim from Steam to be able to use the mods.

I have a boxed copy of Skyrim. You just install it, enter your key, and it will activate with Steam automatically.
At least mine did. lol

Retail copies still use steam and give no problems with using mods whatsoever, or at least my retail version gave me no problems lol.

On a side note, you can download and install mods outside of Steam.
I use nexus mods usually, and don't bother with the "workshop".

But you still get the same mods as the ones on Steam?

Many modders put their mods on both nexus and Steam, but they don't have to do so.
It doesn't matter, you will be able to use anything you want. :rockout:

You can use both nexus mods and Steam mods at the same time. The only difference is that Steam tracks the mods you pull from them and I believe will update them automatically, if you want, when a new version comes out.
I'm not sure on that, I don't use Steam mods.

actually the workshop dosen't allow a good bit of mods to be uploaded to the site, so the ones not allowed are only on the nexus as well as most of the others also.

Yeah i noticed that, how ever using the workshop is so simple and makes adding and removing them as simple as it could be.
