I have to say... I'm a moron. I just picked up an optical drive and had it shipped overnight. Slipped my mind that with a retail copy, I need a DVD rom.

I'm pretty sure since Skyrim is a Steam game, you could activate it on steam and just download it there.

what is this "the arrows will be hard to find" crap? i'll be very disappointed if i can't be a stealthy long range assassin scum.

sneak (not in the latest character since it's extremely easy to become a master)
blade
light armor
restoration
mercantile

(at least in the oblivion) i would sneak and simply pick them off with arrows, a longsword in close quarters and high restoration if shit happens and i get into a major fray.

I wonder if dragons take fall damage. I'm going to paralyze em, watch them fall like a floppy rock.

dragons are probably going to be resistant to such stuff...



but before all, i need a new gfx card at least.

It's based on the Gamebryo Engine, it is not the same as their new Creation Engine. They're not just enhancing lights around the same texture models similar to what IW did.

The Creation Engine allowed for numerous improvements in graphical fidelity over Bethesda's previous efforts. I will play as a thief, with bows, I HATE magic. I like to play sneaky assassins. Last game I could walk around even in front of people and I wouldn't be detected.

That's usually my path, I just hope they make this whole "assassination" portion better this time around. It makes no sense to me when I stab someone who is sleeping in the neck, which then proceeds to get out of bed just to tell me I'm a murderer, and calls on the guards. I'm clearly not a murderer since he/she didn't die from what seems to me should be a fatal cut across the carotid artery

That made me lol because it's true, definitely has happened to me numerous times. I also wonder why you can't have an option to simply knock someone out instead of having to straight up murder the NPC. Have them wake up with a noticeable bruise on their head or have them scratching their head more often than not complaining about how it happened
I'm still going to be an assassin though, its just more fun that way. An assassin/destruction of a redguard or dark elf, I'm not too sure about what class I want yet though.

I'll be doing the same basic that I always do: A ranger with touches of mild conjure/destruct, some thievery, and a good dose of alchemy.

then, since it's the first game I've bought at launch in a LONG time (WoW BC would be it), I'll be getting my money's worth, and doing a battle mage.... or a beserker.... or something COMPLETELY different
