Hi everyone, his is my first tread, the thing is that i can't make it work the EVGA 460 2win properly, i have an amd based chipset (one PCI-E slot) basically non-sli board, i installed the hyperSLI and i was able to enable the SLI in windows 8 (w7 fail after a clean driver install 2 times) but the fps in crysis warhead (almost 10 fps when sli is enabled) its lower than having the sli disabled (30-40 fps)... the GPU clock drops to 51 MHz (default 701MHz), the Memory @135 (default 900 MHz) and the shader clock to 101 MHz (default 1401) i used the GPU-Z to figure that out, thats why crysis drops the FPS from 40 to 10, i tried to overclock it using afterburner but its locked and i dont know what to do, any help will be appreciate it. PD: my native languaje its spanish hehe

Those are the fail-safe clocks that the card uses when the driver crashes or detects a problem.

What are your full system specs, including motherboard model and power supply?

The power supply might be too weak to run two GTX460s. It is an overrated old design, that really should be rated closer to 450w, not 600w. And eVGA says the minimum they recommend is 700w anyway.

It very well could just be that the PSU is failing to supply enough power to the card and it is entering fail-safe mode. For now it should be fine to run it without SLI enabled, so you are only using one of the GPUs. But definitely look into getting a better PSU very soon and don't enable SLI until you do.

Yes i have 314.22 driver installed and proper hipersli driver from anatolymik, enabled the SLI option in nvidia control panel, maybe its the power supply that doesn't giving enough power, i had a nvidia 460 MSI ciclone, no problems with that psu but the 460 2win its a very power hungry video card but i dont want to buy a new one and have the same problem instead of buying a new mother board and solve the problem, sooner or later im going to upgrade the psu and the CPU

I'd buy a new PSU regardless, that one you have now is not very good. I'd be scared trusting my system to it. Just remember, if it decided to die, it could very likely kill every component in your computer. The power supply is the one thing you should never skimp on.

The 2win is a buggy overheating waste of a card. I have one. I use it in a x58 sabertooth, when it decides to run. I have to switch slots, change dvi ports just to get it to POST. Never mind about Windows performance.

I have found that installing 314.22 drivers over the old install will produce one good restart. But when I stop the GPU intensive task, the driver or card crashes, requiring the change slot routine, just to get it running.

Shouldn't SLI just work unless there is something wrong with one of the GPUs? You don't need an SLI ready board to enable SLI on a twin GPU board to the best of my knowledge.

The 460 2Win is a special instance where SLI support is needed.

The GTX 460 2Win is a dual-gpu card and apparently it needs a SLI-supported chipset to work. So that is why he is considering HyperSLI.

I bougth two weeks ago an EVGA z68 FTW mother board SLI ready and yesterday the cooler master GX 750w but i still lack the cpu, 1155 compatible, and now i have the chance to trade the z68 + 170 bucks to a asus maximus formula III with the i7 875k (1156), and i dont know is this a fair trade, what do you think? or should i buy a i3 or i5 third gen? an i3 will bottleneckeck the 460 2win?
