GTX 295 is still a very powerful card and will play anything out there, so going SLi will give you a nice boost, it all depends if you want DX11? IMO i think its not needed and would go with SLi GTX295's for over all grunt and performance. But then again if you want DX11 and less power consumption then going the GTX480 would be your better choice.

Do you already have a GTX295?

EDIT: I see you do, then i would go a second card as now you can get second hand GTX295's very cheap on Ebay. And your PSU has enough grunt for two also ;)

It is a bit hard to justify an upgrade in terms of performance from a GTX295 to a GTX480.

But with the two cards pitted together the 480 wins all around, although I'd suggest to find a way to sell your GTX 295 and invest the money on a newer card eg. GTX570/580

Well it is worth more going for a GTX 570 than a GTX 480 since it is newer tech and they perform about the same. The 570 I'd imagine runs alot cooler as well.

Single 570 / single 480.

SLI of GTX295 aka quad sli is still very young, support is limited. The 800 on board gpu mem is small as well. I played GTA4 with GTX295 and with GTX480, the former was chugging badly due to low memory. SLI profiles shenanigans etc., Better go single GPU and have 100% guarantee that the GPU will be utilized in 100% scale than a GTX295 with chances of it going just 50% (or 25% in case of quad sli).

Good strong single card will give you it's performance right out of the box.....no need to have to wait for updated SLI profiles for newer released games....some games like SLI...some do not.

Hope it helps. :)

GTX 570 draws 50-60 watt less for the same performance of GTX 480, but the 500 series is overpriced for something the 400 series should've been.

Very off topic, but why do you want it? All power cords for home use are the same pretty much.

And to think its a twimtbp title (Cry2).. early access to source code and all. Id hate to think about those titles that are abstracted from them in the first place..

(*cough* total war series )

heh, I remember getting 35-40 fps with a single GTX280(GTX280 and GTX275 about equal in performance. GTX295 is two GTX275 GPUs in one card) in the original Crysis. I though Crysis2 was suppose to be less demanding on hardware?

There aren't any GTX 570s available? Less heat and power consumption, slightly better performance too.

Well it is worth more going for a GTX 570 than a GTX 480 since it is newer tech and they perform about the same. The 570 I'd imagine runs alot cooler as well.

+1 sell the GTX295 and dive on a GTX 570 IMO. I recently bought one myself and its one hell of a card, and no SLi issues to fathom at all. having 1280mb of vram is a great boost over 896mb too, should enable you to set higher IQ and AA+AF settings, not to mention DX11.

they benefit a shitload from a good overclock too, if youre into that sort of thing. I highly reccomend the Asus DCII model, or the Gigabyte OC model, both of which use better components and much better than stock coolers.

Guys , here we dont have many options , we dont have a store that sell's computers parts , we have to buy the staff from friends or people that brings the pieces from another country ( Primari USA ) so i still have the 295 , today i guess i cannot sell it ,

anyway , one friend of mine just call me and he is selling the EVGA GTX 570 SuperClocked edition ,

BTW The guy of the 480 didnt sold it , he keep it ;/

Now i was reading about the 570 and it has 320Bits of Bus , while the GTX480 has 384 bits , that doesnt matter since is very little different right ?
