SLI of GTX650 or GTX580?

Guys i have a GTX580, but i also have two GTX650 2GB , wich one is better , a single GTX580 or GTX650 in SLI??

Since you have all the hardware, why not run tests yourself?

GTX580 should be more powerful in all cases.

For gaming, 650 Ti SLI surely will beat 580. But for CUDA, 580 can beat 650 SLI

I am surprised from what I have googled in 10 mins that you are indeed correct, I stand corrected.

This may well prove to be the decider, I can't see non Ti 650's beating a GTX 580 in most cases, none the less it doesn't seem there would be that much between them considering the SLi 650 Ti benches that I have seen so I would still opt for the single GPU option that matches or is close to the performance of dual GPU's for compatibility reasons alone.

I think the performance margin will be minimal between the two, however if your 650s are of the more common 1GB variety, you're probably better sticking with the 580 for its 1.5GB vram if you play modern titles?

^This, my thoughts exactly. My 580 is showing it's age now (still a good card though) So I'll be upgrading soon probably to a 280x or maybe a 780 if I can afford it when the time comes. But to answer the original question definitely the one 580 should be better than 2 650s, especially in games that offer poor support for SLI.

or a SLI of 580 ... can find it cheap xD (i also would say mono 580 since 2 crap doesnt make up to a awesome high end) BF4 run smooth in campaign on one 580 and better on SLI (ofc the 770 achieve better than that and for less watts and noise >D )

adding the fact that i sold 2 Asus matrix GTX580 Platinum 1.5gb that i paid 130$ each (2nd hand) at 300$ and got a Zotac GTX770 AMP! 2gb for 250$ (2nd hand but 11-10-2013 initial buy so still 23month warranty )

BF4 runs quite well on my GTX580, but in some cases it bottlenecks, its too mucho for a single GTX580

I am selling right now the two GTX 650's , as soon as i have the money ill buy a GTX700 or a GTX780

770 2nd hand can be quite the "bangs for bucks" unless you can find a 7970ghz or a R9-280X cheapo

and you remind me that i need to find a 2nd Zotac 770 AMP! fo cheap! i loved my 580 Matrix SLI but 6 slot is a bit too much ... xD no space between the backplate and the fan

we dont need card with 2gb (only BF4 state it and for the highest res and settings) most game doesnt use more than 1gb (its mainly why old gen 1.5/1.280gb cards hold so well) but a 2gb is the safe side indeed 3gb yush as long as it doesnt make the price go boom like the 4gb 770/680 2gb to 4gb the price of those 2 differ too much to be of any interest.

but you're right 2gb is the new standard minimum

When third-party/AIB custom coolers come out for the R9 290 definitely consider that. I'm definitely considering it after seeing reviews for it. Cheaper than the 780 and performs only a little worse than a 290X. And yeh I do agree with BF4 being a little too much for ye olde 580. Runs ok unless I'm playing on massive maps with 64 players and everything is blowing up around me Same for Flood Zone map, that is a GPU hog...

any TPU 770 reviews but not versus 290/290X, more the 7970 ghz and the 280/280x (also any R9 290/290X have the "stock" 770 in the comparison)

if you can score a R9 290/290X go for it otherwise its all about 280/280X 7970ghz and 770 (all three are the best bangs for bucks, well for the 770 mostly if found in 2nd hand... )

well i would like a 2nd 770 , if i can find a 2nd Zotac AMP! for 250chf, that is otherwise i will have to wait a bit more to take a new one from my favorite E-tailer
