Possible SLI GTX 960 and GTX 770?

I tried to do as the manual says. I was able to see the SLI setup. But after activating SLI in the nvidia settings, the computer catches BSOD .
Tried with drivers 382.33 .

Nope, the GPUs need to be from the same chip architecture. Otherwise even though DifferentSLIauto will enable the option, you still get a BSOD, like you did with mixing Kepler & Maxwell.

I think yes, as long as you don't use the M2_1 slot, because using it will disable the second PCIe slot.

SLI is a dying breed. Less and less games support it.
Many modern games use temporal anti-aliasing which makes SLI/CF impossible.
Also the fact that DirectX 12 forces devs to a different path, using mGPU, as many modern games show. But its implementation is up to the devs and cannot be longer done at driver level as in SLI.

I have a Dell T5500 and two 1st gen nvidia titan cards. Trying to use different sli since my mobo doesn't natively support sli.

However, I've been trying DifferentSLIAuto1.4 with no success. The patcher is looking for "nvlddmkm.sys" in "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\" but it's not there. I did find it buried in another subfolder to System32, but it won't patch, so i'm assuming I shouldn't go this route.

I'm running Win10 Pro and I'm thinking that that might have something to do with it, but haven't found concrete. Any help would be fantastic!

Seems like your system is loading the default Windows display driver instead of the nVidia one.

I'd suggest to EXACTLY follow the install instructions posted earlier in this forum, particularly the part about activating test signing mode.

Are they different vram amounts or something? SLI should work normally with 2 970's.

You have to use the right version of DifferentSLIauto for the respective version of the nVidia driver.
For example driver 384.94 matches DifferentSLIAuto1.7.1

Oh right, I used 1.6. I have one Gigabyte g1 and one evga ftw. They are both 970 so I have no idea why it doesn't work normally.

I just bought PUBG and the testsigning mode is stopping it from initializing.
I understand that TestSigning needs to be on for SLI to work, but if I turn it off will I have to go through the whole process again to get SLI to work afterwards, or would re-enabling it let me carry on as normal?

Test signing mode is required for the modified nVidia driver to load. If it's turned off, a generic Windows driver will be loaded instead, which probably isn't very good for games.
Re-enabling test signing mode makes Windows load the modified driver again. So no need to go through the entire procedure again.

What you could do for better gaming performance is basically swapping the modified and the unmodified nvlddmkm.sys in safe mode, so Windows would still load the nVidia driver instead of the generic one.

Why you need DifferentSLI? I have two different 970s (until monday) and no problems with just installing them and putting a SLI bridge.

You need it if your motherboard is crossfire and not sli compatible out of the box.. Or to pair different kind of cards in some cases.
