It doesn't sound like this problem is caused by a cut cable. There's something up with the servers/hosting instead.

Apparently pirates/radicals cut key undersea cables off the coast of Alexandria, so the rest of the undersea networks are swamped with traffic. I was locked out of TPU for the past 4 hours.

Our servers are in Illinois, btw.

...and I live in New Hampshire and still had trouble; tpucdn.com was unresponsive so javascript, images, and various CSS files were failing to load.

I'm pretty close to TPU actually, only 12 hops away from my gateway. :cool:

The entire internet worked fine (CNN, Steam, MSN, AIM, BOINC, XMPP for sure) except for TPU, then GN. GN was working quite a long time before both GN and TPU were completely unavailable.

He is in the Middle of the US, he's nowhere near an undersea cable. Ft that also were the case, things other than TPU would be going slow as well. tpucdn.com was down and unresponsive, not slowly responding. techpowerup.com itself was fine.

Now when I can, my info is outdated ... interesting enough, one of those down-for-me-or-everyone services made me think for a moment that problem is with my ISP.
