So I need some suggestions.

I'm looking for an FPS that'll run on my laptop because I'm bored to no end. Here are some facts about my laptop.

-Can't run BF3, Bioshock 2, L4D2, MOH, and Dishonored without making bacon. (Lack of frames or overheats)

-Can run CS:GO, Skyrim, C&C:3, Gmod, Fable (Lost Chapters), Killing Floor, and Burnout Paradise without an issue.

Something with decent graphics, because why not?

F2P is preferred but completely understandable if it'll cost me a few bucks.

Planetside runs well on most hardware, but being online only, it's not very new player friendly. Too many veterans on there that kick my ass constantly. Singularity is a cool story, I won't say it's just like return to Castle wolfenstein but it's a long similar lines but with some mild puzzles and some cool weapons (with upgrades!) EYE divine cybermancy is buggy and clunky but runs on the source engine, seemed strangely popular back in the day, but very hard!

Single or multi, I'm not picky. I used to play A.V.A and that was pretty decent. I just tried Ghost Recon Phantoms and it didn't run well. Not sure why as everything should check out good.
CS: Nexon is a knockoff by Nexon Corp. to get another FPS going. I read the reviews and it doesn't look promising.. NA Nexon is really, really bad. (Past issues with them)

Rock paper shotgun run a freeware ganes column. Check out the freeware garden on rps, there's a bunch of games that look quite interesting

BTW, let me inform you that, Lightbulbie's laptop likes to overheat. It has problems.

i recommend planetside 2! its good once you know stuff.
should run... worth a try.

i havent played in months. probably have been kicked from the 114th crows by now lol.

are you sure you cannot run any of the games you mentioned?
i am on my laptop and it runs all games... 1080p but in med high.

I can run them for about 15 minutes before a thermal shutdown or I have to lower the clocks so far to prevent a thermal shutdown that the FPS is at 10-20. I gotta retest L4D2 but I know the BF3 really doesn't like me.

That's what I have. I talked to OneMoar over TS3 about it and I gotta find some copper pipes.

I played both Portals and were fine. I never played Half Life though.

Half Life though.

The first one IS good, and well worth playing. But the second on is something else entirely. It has some of the best character development in gaming IMO. Better than most RPG's even. And the protagonist never utters a word. It is that well made.

Plus it'll run great, and it even looks pretty ok by todays standards.

Oh man, you have to get the Half Life games. Half Life Two, and HL2 episodes 1 and 2. That will keep you gaming for awhile. No gamer should go without playing those! There is the original Half Life collection. HL1/HL1 Source, HL Opposing Force, and HL Blue Shift. Counter Strike Condition Zero single player is excellent. Your laptop will run these no problem.
