Posting for a friend.

Whenever the card gets loaded it emits a monotonous sound. Not coilwhine and mobo speaker. (removed to deduct where the sound was coming)

Already replaced psu from evga 600 w to a Seasonic 750w.

Full specs:

Cpu: ryzen 5 1600 (oc to 2.7 with stock voltage)
Mobo: asrock x370 fatal1ty gaming x
Ram: corsair vengeance led 2666
Psu: seasonic m12 750w
Gpu: vega 64
Previous gpu: 1050 ti (no issue)
M.2 960 evo
2 hdd: 1tb wdc blue, 4tb wdc red

Will follow up with video later.

EDIT: It is the UPS choking power.

Hi, I am that friend that's having the issue

Here is the link on the video:

just bought a Vega 64 and been having issues with it

Whenever i put load on the gpu it starts to beep. Just 1 continues beep until you put the card back on idle. I can boot to windows and do minor stuff.

Ram and psu cables reseated
Gpu already undervolted and underclocked to 900mv, 1200mhz
Non bootable hdd disconnected
Mobo bios updated
Reset bios settings
All drivers related have been dowloaded (clean install)

tried different psu
tried different pcie slot
previous gpu works (gtx 1050 ti)

The card has been replaced and tested on the store before getting it but when i put it on my computer its doing the same thing

My computer is just turning 1yr and this is the first issue i encountered

Specs
Cpu: ryzen 5 1600 (oc to 2.7 with stock voltage)
Mobo: asrock x370 fatal1ty gaming x
Ram: corsair vengeance led 2666
Psu: seasonic m12 750w
Gpu: vega 64
Previous gpu: 1050 ti (no issue)
M.2 960 evo
2 hdd: 1tb wdc blue, 4tb wdc red

Does the beeping come from the card itself or the motherboard? Did you try runnig the card in a different computer? If you did, is the beeping issue still there?

Seems to be on the card, I removed the motherboard speaker and the noise is still there
the card has been replaced and tested on the store I bought it from and doesn't seem to have the issue

I tried to undervolt and underclocked the GPU, 900mv 1200mhz and the issue is still there, temp at the time somwhere in between 45-50c

just replaced my PSU, same result using 1 rail and 2 rail cables

Can it be resonance from some vibrating parts? This includes fans.

You can use a rolled up piece of paper or toilet roll to localize the noise better.

That sounds a lot like capacitor whine. Which the ASUS card has poly caps which can and do whine.

capacitor whine? sorry im not familiar with that. doesn't it sound more like a beeping noise? like when you have a fan alert on the MoBo?

If the beep is very high pitched (near ultrasone), then its coil whine. If its more of a 'toot!', that is a motherboard beep.

I think your use of the word 'beep' is confusing, I think what you have is coil whine as well.

Describing sound is hard and a recording often doesn't do it justice either, unfortunately.

Sorry, the reason why i use the word "beep" its because it sounded like one of the motherboard beep codes, only difference is, its a continues beep until the GPU is back on idle

Possibly ,by not supplying enough current to the gpu , i suspect the motherboard not getting enough power to support the slot and gpu concurrently, the end result of not plugging in the gpu right is often a monotone continuous beep.

Seems like the beep is coming from your mobo from some reason....Hmmm maybe you can try and turn off ALL error notifications in your bios and then see what happened....If not then it could be your UPS

if u use APC the probelm is him. Not enougth to deal with the amount of power draw by your pc system. Try to use pc without it and you will not ear that sound. U need powerful APC with more wattage. 625 va is very low when dealing with a powerful video card like vega on load

there is no coilwine issue

your APC can deal with a powerdraw around 500w

Your UPS will emit a sound whenever the power draw of the system exceeds the rated UPS capacity.
