So eeeeeeeverything was working fine. And then i "updated" windows 10 from 1909 to 2004 version. ABSOLUTELY every time MS fcuks something up with bug updates. This time my speakers stopped working. Headphones work just fine, but speakers...not a sound. I can see them in sound control panel. I can set them as defaul. But when i try to test them, that audio meter next to speaker icon goes up, but no sound from speakers. Tried reinstalling realtek drivers...same thing. Suggestions?

How are the speakers hooked up? Regular 3.5mm or USB?

Ive plugged in USB audio sources and had windows try to force 32-bit, which a lot of more consumer type stuff cant do period. And then once I switched to one it could actually handle, the 32-bit options vanished. Check the bit/sample rate in the advanced settings for your speakers. Might need to switch to 16-bit/44.1khz. For whatever reason sometimes windows wants to up sample to levels used in production, all of the time.

It's 3,5mm plugged in the speakers jack in the back of the motherboard. I tried plugging them in the front 3.5mm jack on PC case, and it works. But no reason why it shouldn't work when plugged directly in the MBO. Especially since it worked fine before the update. I tried changing to different audio formats. From 16 to 32 bits. No changes.

Edit.
So i just downloaded the latest X570 chipset drivers from the main page of Techpowerup, installed, rebooted aaaand..works.

Welp, got me! To me thats either the jack or a driver issue. Odd that its the front panel working and not the other way around. This is the driver supplied by the mobo vendor, correct? No funky surround stuff going on?

Honestly, sounds like you got bit. I thought this was mosly a laptop thing but apparently not. All I can think to do is roll back. Sometimes a bios update can fix things like that too. Hopefully someone else will have your answer.
