[Solved] RX580 4GB OR 8GB?

Hello everyone, today I changed the thermal paste of my Sapphire Nitro+ rx580 4gb, and I noticed that it has 8 chips of ram, but only 4 of them have a thermal pad.
Also the box of the gpu has a 4gb sticker to hide 8gb. I can't find any datasheet of my ram chips.

Could you please tell me if this is a locked 4gb version?

Thanks in advance :)

Hello
As you can see in the following link to your original BIOS - you will see exact memory chips that you have on your video card.
And at the memory size you will see that you have 4096 mb = 4GB

So...you got yourself a 4gb video card

Also, I got a question: every new amd driver I install makes the drivers crashes, right now I'm using the 20.11.2 version which seems to work fine, but I would like to update it without getting this kind of problems... (I already tried to unistall the drivers with ddu)

Chips are 512Mb each, so youre card is 4Gb model, also looking at your second picture. I see missing thermal pads are right on the cooler, are they not?

Download the GPU enterprise driver from AMD directly.

Update your motherboard chipset drivers, restart.

Disconnect from internet
Uninstall GPU drivers fully using amd uninstaller then DDU.

Restart when prompted.

Install enterprise driver.

Thank you for the tip. I unistalled the drivers using the amd tool 3 days ago and since then it's working fine. Hopefully it won't crash again :)

Too good to be true, here we go with another driver timout error with a LiveKernelEvent. I guess I'll try to follow your guide.
(sorry but Italian is the OS languange, the amd box says: "the amd software has detected a timeout in the driver currently in use, we generated a report that can be sent to amd to improve our software")

Send the report

Try youtube for a few other fixes.

Have you tried pulling the card, cleaning the pcie slot and contacts on the card and reseating the card in the slot firmly and squared?

I sent two or three reports last month. I already cleaned the pci slot when I changed the thermal paste of the gpu. Right now I tried to update the mobo bios and chipset drivers, let's see how it goes...

Old version of what?
We were talking about gpu drivers. So the old version of the gpu drivers (20.11.2). I need to check the amd software included with the enterprise editions because I need the antialiasing feature for some old games.
