Some RAM Questions...

Hey guys, I've got a Gigabyte GA-K8NS-939 mobo with an Athlon 64 3200+ CPU. I am running 1gig of GEIL RAM, PC3200 (CL2-3-3-6 Ultra-400) and the performance isn't what I was hoping for. I have some questions:

1) Should I stay at 1gig or go to 2gigs? I play a lot of new games and want performance!

2) Would it be better to go with a high performance RAM company like Corsair? I know the on-chip latency is a bit lower than what I have...but will I even notice?

3) Should I buy 2 matched/paired 512 sticks and run them in DDR, or go with 2gigs instead?

4) If I go with 2 gigs, can I use my existing GEIL sticks AND 2 new Corsair sticks...or do all 4 of the sticks have to be the same?

5) Can I use PC3500 instead of PC3200?

2 Gigs it totally unnessary for gaming. 1 Gig will be fine. Get two sticks of 512 and dual channel you will get better performance, and if I remember correctly PC 3500 has more pins then 3200 so, No.

if you buy another gig of the corsair stuff it wil work but dual channell will be disabled and i agree 2GB is way too much i have 1GB and i certainly notice from when i upgraded from 512MB especially in games like half life 2 and far cry and you can buy faster ram than pc3200 that will work just makesure it has the right amount of pins
