Two things....first off I like my 9800GTX as well

Secondly....does the second slot on the DFI run at 16X? check GPU-z, cuz I thought it was an 8X slot even if no card is in the first slot!

Oh my i just checked. According to the manual, DFI, everybody else each slot individualy is supposed to run at 16x but in SLI 8x/8x BUT its running at 2x :wtf:

That explains why Warhead, and Clear Sky lag. Almost flawless but still some lag.

Gonna switch this bad boy to the first slot. Which means i have to use the Silicon chip for SATA and my chipset cooler wont be able to breath =( No beuno but ill fix that with a new setup very soon.

sometimes u need to move the bottom set to force 8x ur manual will tell you were to place them

Ah you should be fine moving the card up to the first slot. I had almost that exact same board; my 8800 GTS blocked the chipset cooler too and it still did fine.

@ Solaris Yea but id rather have 16x instead of 2 or 8 :laugh:

@pb Chipset cooler wasnt a problem for me that much. It was them damn SATA cables. I didnt wanna format and switch to the RAID chip but i did anyways.

I too had to deal with that RAID chip, but it was for a different reason. Apparently you can't burn CDs or DVDs using a SATA optical drive and a SATA HDD at the same time on the nForce4 chipset, so I had to put the HDD on the RAID chip.

All i have is SATA devices and i burn CDs/DVDs constantly before i had to use the RAID chip :wtf:

I have a different problem now. Its called SERIOUS HARDCORE BOTTLENECK!!! Since im using this RAID chip idk why but i cant OC my cpu at all :bangedhead:

I can get it OCed but when i get into Vista i either blue screen or wierd crap happens like nothing wants to load and fails. This is between stock and 2.95ghz. On the nF4 SATA it dosent do this.

yeah something is not right.

I could get 9k with an athlon x2 4000+ and 3850. Both at stock.

XP, I would try it with vista but I don't have the 4000 x2 anymore.

edit: it might have been high 8k or low 9k. I don't remember.

Yea see id prolly be bangin in the 10k range if i was on XP too. I always got so much higher score in XP than i did in Vista.
