Sony PS4 Controller vs. Xbox One S Controller [SOLVED]

Which one is better for PC games/emulators? PS4 Controller never worked for me via bluetooth on PC only with USB cable. PS4 Controller via bluetooth loose signal with bluetooth dongle. It works only few seconds then disconnect.

Well xbox/xinput based controllers are more windows friendly for emulators. Most of the time emulators are pre configured for xbox based controllers.

Xbox is more native.. but if you feel more comfortable with PS4, you can get it to work. Just on a personal level, I prefer the 360 feel and weight, but the XOne is the next best thing. PS controllers have always felt a tad small for me.

Xbox r best imo , i was using PSnow to play bloodbourne on Win10 & quickly got tired of the Ps controller. The ps cont required me to plug my headphones in the controller which i wasnt fond of either.

Xbone is better for windows as its natively supported. DS4 on the other hand does have steam support but if you don't play games on steam you need to use DS4windows or InputMapper. (or alternatively you can add it as a non steam game)

I've always preferred the DS4 over the Xbone as I'm asian and they feel right in my hands. Also the Dpad on the DS4 imo is better than the Xbone, very useful if you do plan on playing Fighting games like tekken and whatnot.

as for PC bluetooth with the DS4 back then when I was using a laptop I've never dropped connection or anything whilst using it. It was consistent and an amazing experience. But moving to desktop using a standard cheap bluetooth adapter introduces a lot of problem. I think you need a combo card (Wifi+BT) to avoid the problems a usb bluetooth faces. You can also get the official DS4 dongle from Sony if you don't mind the price (as it cost as much as a Combo card here)

Try em out both first and see what feels better with your hands

To me, pick the one that feels comfortable to use. For me that has always been the DS2/DS3/DS4 controller. I've never had an issue with the DS4 controller disconnecting from Bluetooth on any of my computers, but I've heard you can't just use a cheap dongle, it needs to be a decent one and you have to plug it into the front of the computer due to bluetooths short range. All my computers have bluetooth built in know, and the DS4 works fine with them.

I use a ASUS Bluetooth dongle and it seems to work well

Yes, the Z370 and X470 Taichi both have built in Bluetooth.

Grab DS4Windows, it streamlines using the DS4 on Windows and makes Windows believe it is just an Xbox controller so it works with pretty much any game that supports the Xbox controller. It also walks you through connecting it to Bluetooth.

I prefer the PS4 controller with fighting games such as Mortal Kombat XL or Injustice 2 but I prefer the Xbox controller for 3rd person POV and racing games...I prefer mouse and keyboard for first person shooters.

For comfort, the PS4 controller is my choice. I really don't mind the usb cable. Then again, I have big hands. Your mileage may very. For compatibility, the Xbox controller might be the better choice as it's supported natively by Windows. You just have to decide what is most important to you.

Some games support the DS4 controller natively(most steam games that support controllers). Others that support the Xbox controller with also work with the DS4 controller if you use the DS4Windows program.

It's all about personal preference, honestly. If you prefer the xbox controller, then great, use that. If you prefer the DS4, use that... or use a PS3 controller... or even a PS2 or PS1 controller with an adapter. I had an adapter once that was pretty much plug and play for my PS2 controller. I had to configure the keys in ePSXe, but other than that, nothing else was needed. I've even used a super nintendo controller with an adapter. Personally, I use a PS3 controller with the xinput wrapper, because my hands are used to the PS2 controller and the PS3 isn't far off. I'd like to try the xbone controller sometime because it doesn't require shit to work, and I'd probably feel better that way... but, the PS3 controller works fine.

You're likely having issues because you're lacking your antenna, yeah... I dunno if you can use a wifi antenna or not. If it physically fits without forcing it, give it a try, but don't get your hopes up.
