1) CDPR pre-sold millions of copies on 8th generation consoles and PC.
2) Somewhere during development CDPR decided to shift focus from 8th gen console and use backwards compatibility of 9th gen consoles and hoped to brute force it.
2a) Delay was for that imo. Their official excuse that to polish on 8th gen consoles
2b) AND hope that 9th gen consoles become proliferated.
2c) sadly both targets fail.
3) Pandemic supply meant that there's not enough 9th gen consoles. 8th gen is still primary console for almost all household.
4) CDPR blocks review on 8th gen consoles. Release reviews were either 9th gen consoles or PC.
5) Prime time! Slowly but surely issues on 8th gen consoles come out.
6) CDPR issues apology and promises patches and magnanimously announces refund.
7) Surprise! Japanese (apology for my french) scheiße-stains of two companies Sony and Nintendo don't believe in refunds of digital media.
8) Fortunately (for Nintendo) Switch won't get Cyberpunk anyway so Sony does what it does best and delists Cyberpunk from PSN.
No refund for nobody.
